Jimmy Shoffman Returns to Desert Stages Theatre in THE LAST 5 YEARS, Now thru 5/18
Jimmy Shoffman never set out to be an actor. As a film screenwriting major at Arizona State University he was "dragged" to his first audition by his classmate in a beginning acting class, a requirement for his degree. His first show at Desert Stages Theatre was the iconic "West Side Story" in which he played "Action" and the rest as they say is history! Shoffman has become one of the who's who of local valley actors and his talent and drive has rewarded him with 2 AriZoni Awards for acting for his work in DST's "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and the legendary John Merrick in "The Elephant Man".
Shoffman returns to his roots at Desert Stages playing Jamie Wellerstein in The Last 5 Years. A story about the demise of a couples 5 year relationship and marriage, told in opposing order by each spouse, The Last 5 Years is a beautiful and heart-breaking story of 2 people who find and lose each other in this emotionally charged musical.
