The 86th Annual Bee opened with a segment shot on stage at the Shubert Theatre featuring a monologue penned by the show's Tony Award nominated book writer Dennis Kelly and performed by Tony Award nominated Bertie Carvel as the terrifying Miss Trunchbull. The television spot, which previews the sound, color, and attitude of one of the season's most highly anticipated musicals, was recognized for excellence in Entertainment, Art Direction and Use of Music. Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory opens at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 25 June 2013. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, The Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, which won big at this year's Olivier Awards, will open in New York early 2013. Matilda The Musical premiered at The Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, home of the RSC, playing to sold-out audiences for twelve weeks from November 2010 to January 2011.

Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that the show is now aiming to open on Broadway in the Spring of 2013, produced by the RSC themselves and overseen by Andre Ptaszynski, who formerly ran Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Really Useful Group.
