Open Road Films Acquires Rights to A HAUNTED HOUSE Sequel

Open Road Films has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to A HAUNTED HOUSE 2 (working title) - the sequel to this year's hit film A HAUNTED HOUSE - to be co-written by and starring Marlon Wayans.

Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz,and Rafe Spall will star on Broadway in Harold Pinter's BETRAYAL, directed by ten-time Tony Award-winner Mike Nichols. BETRAYAL will begin performances on Tuesday, October 1 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Opening night is Sunday, November 3. BETRAYAL is a strictly limited engagement, running 14 weeks only, through January 5, 2014.

Nick Jr. Picks Up Tia Mowry's INSTANT MOM

NickMom has ordered 13 episodes of Instant Mom (working title), the primetime TV block's first original scripted comedy series, starring Tia Mowry-Hardrict, it was announced today by Bronwen O'Keefe, Senior Vice President, NickMom. The half-hour, multi-camera series is set to premiere later this year on NickMom and repeat on Nick at Nite.

Bravo Media unveiled its largest slate of original programming-to-date with 17 new and 18 returning unscripted series, marking a 15 percent increase over last year, and announced three new scripted projects in development. Additionally, Bravo ranks #9 in the highly desired A18-49 demo and in A25-54, up 5 percent and 7 percent respectively, and up 8 percent in total viewers year-to-date, according to Nielsen.

Lifetime Cancels Long-Running Series AMERICA'S MOST WANTED

After 25 seasons, AMERICA's MOST WANTED is no longer particularly wanted. Lifetime has officially cancelled the long-running docu-crime series, according to TV Guide, though no reps from Walsh Productions, or host John Walsh himself, were willing to offer a comment.

Summertime Entertainment has inked a deal with Clarius Entertainment for a wide theatrical release, with significant prints & advertising support in the U.S. and Canada, for the 3-D animated musical film "Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return." The release date will be slated for 1stquarter of 2014. As part of the pact, Home Entertainment will be provided by a major studio partner, with sub-distribution rights handled by others. The company is beginning discussions for international distribution for the film, which had a prior working title "Dorothy of Oz."

Andrew Lloyd Webber Confirms Profumo Musical Will Focus on STEPHEN WARD; Show Nearly Ready

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is nearly finished with his work on a musical based on the events surrounding the 1963 Profumo Affair, and we revealed back in December that the project will reunite him with lyricist Don Black and playwright Christopher Hampton - the team behind SUNSET BOULEVARD, which debuted in the West End in 1993 and later won seven 1995 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
