The National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today its selections for the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Beautiful Poison, Cubamor, Great Wall, How To Break, Mary Marie, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, String and Stu For Silverton make up the eight new musicals that will be presented at the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals on Thursday, October 23, 2014 and Friday, October 24, 2014 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Chester Theatre Company will open its 25th Anniversary Season with J.T. Rogers' haunting mystery MADAGASCAR. The production, which runs from June 25th through July 6th at the Chester Town Hall in Chester, MA, will feature CTC favorites Debra Jo Rupp (A Body of Water) and Kim Stauffer (Crime and Punishment).
Bay Street Theater Announces BLACKOUT at Bay Street Cabaret

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce BLACKOUT at Bay Street, a late night immersive cabaret. Doors will open immediately after the Mainstage show, at approximately 10:30 pm, with the cabaret performances beginning at 11 pm. The first weekend this summer is Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9 with THE SKIVVIES. The second weekend this summer is Friday and Saturday, August 22 and 23 with THE BAY STREET MUSICAL CABARET. BLACKOUT is complimentary if you are attending My Life Is A Musical on these evenings. A $15 cover charge will apply to all walk-ins.

In 2012, Joe DiPietro joined forces with director Kathleen Marshall to take a forgotten Gershwin show, revamp it, and turn it into hit Nice Work if You Can Get it. Now, according to The Boston Globe, they're at it again. This time, they are taking Garson Kanin's 1985 play Peccadillo and turning it into Living on Love. Living on Love follows a Italian maestro and his wife, an opera dive, who hire ghostwriters of the opposite sex to pen competing memoirs. They both become trapped between their drive to battle each other and the feelings that arise for their ghostwriters.
