Disney Theatrical Productions, Shea's Performing Arts Center, and Albert Nocciolino announced today that tickets for the highly anticipated Buffalo engagement of Disney's NEWSIES will go on sale to the public today, June 20th at 10:00 AM. Tickets start at $35.  The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at Shea's Buffalo Theatre on September 29th for a limited engagement of one week through October 4th as a part of the M&T Bank 2015-16 Broadway Series.

Opening at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on June 17, Navigating the West: George Caleb Bingham and the River is the first major Bingham exhibition in more than 25 years. It will bring together for the first time 16 of his iconic river paintings. This extraordinary series chronicles the transformation of America's western wilderness and established an indelible image of the West for the nation. More than 40 of Bingham's masterful preparatory drawings depicting fur traders and boatmen at work and play on the inland rivers will provide an unprecedented look at Bingham's artistic process. Bingham's early masterpiece, Fur Traders Descending the Missouri(1845), from the collection of the Metropolitan, will be featured in the exhibition.

Jewish Museum to Host Puppetry Workshop for Families, 6/14

Whimsical Puppetry Wonders, a drop-in art workshop for families, will take place on Sunday, June 14 from 1pm to 4pm at The Jewish Museum.  Kids can design puppet characters inspired by classic tales of the Yiddish theater, combining tradition with imagination. Participants will use found objects, modeling clay, paint, colorful fabrics, and wire to sculpt these unique puppets. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to bring the characters to life on a mini-stage! The workshop is co-presented with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene as a part of KulturefestNYC.
