Three new operas developed by American Opera Projects to premiere:  two on race relations in America and one on the future of sex.

Three Way is a trio of comic one-act operas for eight singers and chamber orchestra by Robert Paterson, with libretto by David Cote, that explores the possible future-and the eternal questions-of love, sex, and need.

The 2016-17 season is an exceptional year for Robert Paterson, the New York-based composer whose music has been praised for its elegance, wit, rhythmic vitality, and wonderful sense of color that 'often seems to shimmer.' He will have the first evening-length, fully-staged opera production of his career: Three Way, a trio of comic operas with libretto by David Cote 'about craving and connection,' co-produced by Nashville Opera and American Opera Projects, will have its world premiere in Nashville and its New York premiere at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

COTTON, written by Sara Fellini and directed by Samuel Adams. THE EXECUTION OF MRS. COTTON will be presented Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 PM July 14-31 with one 3PM matinee on Sunday, July 24th (there will no evening performance on July 24th).  The performances will be held at IRT Theater (154 Christopher Street, Manhattan, buzzer 3B, off the Christopher Street Path Station, or a few blocks from the Christopher Street 1 stop) as part of IRT Theater's 3B Residency series. Gulfshore Opera will present Gaetano Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore (Elixir of Love) for two performances at venues in Charlotte and Collier counties, on April 15 and 21. Steffanie Pearce, Founder and General Director, has created a show that includes both celebrated and up and coming artists from around the world, the Gulfshore Opera Orchestra and Chorus, and a collaboration with Gulfshore Ballet, a local ballet school.

After composing La Bohème, Tosca, and Madama Butterfly, what could Giacomo Puccini possibly do for a final statement? The answer: Turandot. Containing some of the greatest operatic music ever written, Turandot is the culmination of Puccini's brilliant career. This grand-scale opera is full of thrilling choruses, thundering orchestrations, and a cast consisting of, well, most of ancient China!

Ronald Wilson, a husband, father, grandfather, devoted writer and author, has completed his newest book 'Net of Souls The Complete Adventures of Skipp and Wes Mason Book 2': the second book in the series Skipp and Wes.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest operas ever composed, Don Giovanni returns to Philadelphia in five performances at the Academy of Music, today, April 25-May 4, 2014, weaving the tale of the legendary rake Don Juan in Mozart's alternately playful and dramatic musical masterpiece. With an ingenious staging of masquerades, trapdoors and mirrored panels, the production shines a spotlight on opera's most infamous scoundrel in a timeless classic of comedy and tragedy set to music of limitless genius. Mozart's anti-hero has a personality so engaging that audiences will wonder why they are rooting for him as he charms and abandons women at will, until his darkest side emerges.

OperaDelaware announced today that the final performance of its popular Inside the Opera Studio series, Les pêcheurs de perles (The Pearl Fishers) is sold out for 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9. A limited number of tickets remain for the Friday, March 7 performance, which will be held at 7:30 at the OperaDelaware studios at 4 Poplar Street, Wilmington.
