'Dancing with the Stars' duo Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will extend their run for an additional two weeks in Broadway's FOREVER TANGO. Originally scheduled to appear for three weeks only, the couple will now perform in the internationally acclaimed entertainment phenomenon through Sunday, August 11, 2013. Special guest vocalist and five-time Grammy Award-winner, Gilberto Santa Rosa, will appear through July 28, 2013 as previously announced. Forever Tango began performances on Tuesday, July 9, 2014 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W 48thStreet). Grammy Award-winning Nicaraguan singer and composer Luis Enrique will join the company of Luis Bravo's internationally acclaimed entertainment phenomenon, Forever Tango for three weeks only. 'El Principe de la Salsa' (The Prince of Salsa) will perform nightly at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W 48th Street), Tuesday, July 30 through Sunday, August 18, 2013. 'Dancing with the Stars' duoKarina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will appear through Sunday, August 11, 2013 and special guest star Gilberto Santa Rosa will play his final performance on July 28, 2013.

BWW CD Reviews: LYSISTRATA JONES (Original Broadway Cast Album) is Witty, Cheerful, and Effervescent

LYSISTRATA JONES had its New York premiere in a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production at The Gym at Judson. It transferred to Broadway and opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre on December 14, 2011. Living in Houston, this show was not even a blip on my radar. Having been a longtime reader of BroadwayWorld, the name was familiar, but I didn't know anything about the show. With the June 14, 2013 announcement that a film adaptation is in the works, I felt compelled to track down a copy of the Original Cast Album and give the quirky comedy at least a few listens.

WICKED, the musical that reminds us that so much happened before Dorothy dropped in OZ, is visiting Houston's Hobby Center for the Performing Arts for the fourth time this summer. There is no denying that excitement is growing in Houston. Billboards for the show line our highways, commercials play on our TVs and radios, and everyone is buzzing about the much-loved musical. Recently, I chatted with Alex Wyse, who joined the cast as Boq on June 6, 2013. He took a few minutes out of his busy tour and performance schedule to chat with me about WICKED and his incredible career.
