Jim Caruso presents songwriter Andrew Gerle and his talented friends in 'Say We Flew - The Songs of Andrew Gerle'. The concert will take place on Monday, January 31 at 7pm as part of the Broadway at Birdland series, which showcases performers and writers from the Great White Way. Singing Andrew's songs will be Karen Ziemba, Carrie Manolakos, Mark Linn-Baker, Christa Justus, Richard Maltby, Jr., Pamela Bob, Cassie Wooley & Victoria Huston-Elem.

Hattie Maloney(Julie Cardia), a nightclub singer in Panama City, tries to fit into the elite world of the American colony to which her fiancé, and single parent, Nick Bullett (Paul Anthony Stewart), belongs. Her prospective marriage to Nick hinges on the approval of his precocious 8-year-old daughter, Gerry (Madeleine Rose Yen), as well as that of his boss. Gerry has been chaperoned on her trip from the States by Vivian Budd (Jackson R. Best) a 'gentleman's gentleman' who gets bent to the breaking point by the wiles of Hattie's best friend Florrie (Lara Seibert). Nick's boss, an Army officer/engineer, Whitney Randolph (Daren Kelly), and the girls in the Canal 'social set' - Leila (Victoria Huston-Elem), Kitty-Belle (Claire Russell) and Mildred (Allison Maldonado) - prove even harder to win over than does Gerry. So what's needed are some major heroics and that is supplied when a plot to blow up the canal is foiled. Helping thwart the 'enemy' are three less-than-robust soldiers - Woozy (Antonio Addeo), Skat (John Bambery) and Windy (William Nash). Also contributing to our revival of this 1940 musical farce are Anne Marie Behr, Matthew Conti, Greg Etling, Jefferson Grubbs, Vanessa Hernandez, Annemarie Rosano and Christopher Woods. Last night, Monday June 21, the Kleban Foundation hosted a cocktail reception honoring the winners of the 20th Annual Kleban Awards for the most promising musical theater lyricist and librettist. 2010 Kleban Award winners are Peter Mills (the most promising musical theater lyricist) and Barry Wyner (the most promising musical theater librettist). Peter Mills' latest musical draws its inspiration from JM Synge's controversial 1907 play.

The Bubble comes at a time when history is repeating itself. We're seeing things happening now to the housing bubble that happened to the dotcom bubble. Conceiver Karen Paull said today. The Bubble is inspired by Paull's own experiences in Silicon Valley. Karen Paull is available for interviews and is an expert on surviving a market bubble.

The new Musical Dot-Comedy The Bubble begins performances on September 17th at 8pm at The Zipper Factory Theater, as part of the 2008 New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The Butterfly - adapted from Patricia Polacco's book of the same name by Charles Greenberg (Music) and Barbara Zinn Krieger (Book & Lyrics) and directed by David Schechter - will be presented by Making Books Sing, the New York-based company dedicated to turning culturally and historically significant books for young readers into musical works for the stage, with performances in the Bronx at the Lovinger Theatre at Lehman College from January 28 to February 1; in Brooklyn at the Goldstein Theatre at Kingsborough Community College from February 4 to 8; in Manhattan at Symphony Space from February 9 to 12; and in Queens at Laguardia Performing Arts Center at Laguardia Community College from February 14 to 15.
