According to Deadline.com, OTHER DESERT CITIES star Justin Kirk has signed on for the eighth season of Showtime's 'Weeds.' Kirk plays 'Andy' in the series, which will ikey eneter its final season later this year.

Carol Burnett will among the recipients of the 49th Annual ICG Publicists Awards, to be held Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Justin Kirk begins performances tomorrow, Tuesday January 10, joining Stockard Channing, Rachel Griffiths, Stacy Keach, and Judith Light in the Lincoln Center Theater production of OTHER DESERT CITIES, a new play by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Joe Mantello, at the Booth Theatre (222 W. 45 Street).

Following sold out runs on Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club and Off-Broadway at Classic Stage Company, VENUS IN FUR, the acclaimed new play by David Ives, directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, will transfer to Broadway's Lyceum Theatre starring Tony Award nominee Nina Arianda and Emmy Award nominee Hugh Dancy.

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected to screen in the out-of-competition Premieres and Documentary Premieres sections of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Included in this year's line-up is Price Check, featuring Cheyenne Jackson, Parker Posey, and Annie Parisse.The Festival will be held January 19 through 29 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. Stephen Farber, one of the country's leading film critics and historians, will continue his film series Reel Talk with Stephen Farber at the Wadsworth Theatre for 11 Monday nights beginning October 3. Reel Talk with Stephen Farber is presented in partnership with RICHMARK Entertainment and Landmark Theatres.

Frank Theatre will present THE SANTALAND DIARIES, the stage adaptation of David Sedaris' hilarious account of his stint as a Christmas elf in Macy's 'SantaLand' Nov. 27-Dec. 30 at the Assembly of the Woman's Club of Minneapolis, located on Loring Park at 410 Oak Grove Street, Mpls, MN 55403. The production features Twin Cities actor Joe Leary as 'Crumpet the Elf,' with scenery by Steve Rohde, costumes by Kathy Kohl, lighting by Mike Wangen and sound by Sarah Pickett with assistance from Katharine Horowitz.

Capping a 20th anniversary season of milestones, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival turns to the Elizabethan past with its rehearsal methods for The Two Noble Kinsmen.

Vera Farmiga's directorial debut, HIGHER GROUND, is a coming-of-age drama in which Farmiga delivers a subtle, nuanced performance completely from the gut, with equally strong and compelling supporting characters. Set against the backdrop of the Sixties, when feminism reached its zenith, the film expertly depicts the landscape of a tight-knit spiritual community. Inspired by the resonant memoir from Carolyn Briggs (who also wrote the screenplay) the film is an exquisite study of one woman's internal struggle with the primary love relationships in her life. John Hawkes, Donna Murphy, Bill Irwin, Dagmara Dominczyk, and Joshua Leonard round out the cast, along with Farmiga's younger sister Taissa, who proves herself to be an extraordinary new talent as Young Corinne.
