Por Piedad Teatro Presents WORKING ON A SPECIAL DAY, Now Through 7/6

Known for their international vision of new plays, The Play Company (PlayCo) is pleased to announce that Working on a Special Day, their 2013 co-production with Mexico City's Por Piedad Teatro, has gone on to a series of international engagements, including the Edinburgh Fringe (August 2013), Singapore's M1 Festival (January 2014) and the Adelaide Fringe Festival (February 2014 - Winner, Peace Foundation Award). After an award-winning engagement at the Prague Fringe Festival (May 2014 winner the Performance Award and the Creative Award) the play returns to the U.S. for a run at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, Massachusetts; June 18-July 6. The touring life of this play marks a new level of international exchange in PlayCo's pioneering mission to support a global approach to contemporary theatre.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, presents the internationally acclaimed, Working on A Special Day, a production of The Play Company and Mexico City-based Por Piedad Teatro, from tonight, June 18 through July 6 at Barrington Stage's St. Germain Stage. Press Opening is Sunday, June 22 at 3pm.Directed by and featuring Ana Graham and Antonio Vega, Working on A Special Day is a new play about a life-changing encounter between an overworked housewife and a mysterious bachelor on May 8, 1938 - the day Rome celebrates Hitler's visit to Mussolini's Italy. A bittersweet drama unfolds within the charged political landscape of rising fascism in Rome.
