Profiles Theatre Announces its 2010- 2011 Season

Artistic Directors Joe Jahraus and Darrell W. Cox announce Profiles Theatre's 2010-2011 Season. Profiles, one of Chicago's longest-running storefront theatres, is presenting its 22nd season of new and challenging works, beginning with the Midwest Premiere of the acclaimed new play Jailbait by Deirdre O'Connor.

Tony Award-winning producer Andy Sandberg (Hair, The Last Smoker in America) will present a staged reading of the provocative new play, A Perfect Future, by David Hay (The Maddening Truth) with direction by Tony Award-nominee Wilson Milam (The Lieutenant of Inishmore). Prior developmental readings of the play were presented by Naked Angels Theater Company (Next Fall).

Profiles Theatre announces the final extension of its hit production Killer Joe by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts at Chicago's Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St. After 13 weeks at Profiles Theatre and 8 more weeks at The Royal George Theatre's Cabaret space, the acclaimed production will extend for an additional 6 weeks through July 18, 2010.

Brancati, Martin, & Pitre Set For LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE in Toronto, 7/21 - 9/4

Paula Brancati, Lauren Collins, Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Andrea Martin, and Louise Pitre are officially set to be the first cast of the Toronto production of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE. As in the initial New York staging of the play by Nora and Delia Ephron, the production will feature a company of six that rotates in four-week cycles. The next cast will be announced in the next upcoming weeks.

The cast of the historic Human Race Theatre Company/Wright State University Theatre Department collaborative production of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, August: Osage County, is now set. The 13-member ensemble of seven professionals and six WSU students includes two performers who were understudies during the play's five-Tony-winning run on Broadway.

The prize is two tickets to Edward Albee's WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?, starring ensemble members Tracy Letts and Amy Morton, plus a $100 gift certificate to local restaurant Vinci. The winner will also be displayed in the lobby of our theatre and online. The deadline to enter the contest is Friday, July 10th, 2010 at midnight.
