Zoë Bell, the international action icon discovered by Quentin Tarantino, will appear at Museum of the Moving Image with a preview screening of her new film Raze, on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. In this exciting and relentlessly hyperviolent action film directed by Josh Waller, she stars as a woman forced to do battle with other innocents for the amusement of unseen spectators. Leading in to this special screening and appearance, the Museum will also present a retrospective of her work—chronicling her transformation from stuntwoman to star—in the films Whip It, Death Proof, and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 on January 4 and 5. Labyrinth Theater Company (Artistic Director Mimi O'Donnell, Managing Director Danny Feldman), the award-winning, downtown ensemble, presents Sunset Baby, written by Dominique Morisseau, at the Bank Street Theater (155 Bank Street), Labyrinth Theater Company's home in New York City's West Village. Deadline reports that Dorian Missick (Southland) has joined the ANNIE remake alongside Tracie Thoms as Annie's 'fake parents'. The new film inspired by the classic Broadway musical with a modern spin also stars Quvenzhane Wallis in the title role with Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, as well as the recently announced David Zayas. The film is currenly filming on-location in New York City.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) extends its New York premiere musical comedy Murder For Two, with book and music by Joe Kinosian, book and lyrics by Kellen Blair and directed by Scott Schwartz yet another week through August 25. Murder for Twofeatures Jeff Blumenkrantz (How to Succeed...) and Brett Ryback (The History Boys at Ahmanson). Previews began on July 10 and opening night was Thursday, July 25.
