Last night, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) Ninth Season Gala honored Kelli O'Hara for her contributions to musical theatre at the Hudson Theatre. BroadwayWorld was there for the festivities and we bring you full coverage below!

After five years of ongoing renovations, the popular Upper West Side performance space the Triad Theater (158 West 72nd Street) officially re-launches today as STAGE 72 as a part of the New York Comedy Festival, which will include performances and appearances by Susie Essman, Meredith Vieira, two special editions of Celebrity Autobiography featuring Janeane Garofalo, Tony Danza, Mario Cantone, SNL alum Rachel Dratch, and more.

ABC has brought on David Richardson of TWO AND A HALF MEN and Ian Gurvitz of FRASIER, to pen the script for the upcoming Tony Danza series, THE GUYS. Danza is also set to executive produce with Vince Vaughn.

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel welcomes back the acclaimed husband-and-wife team John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey to the legendary Café Carlyle. Mr. Pizzarelli and Ms. Molaskey will play a month-long engagement from tonight, October 30 to November 24th

Matthew Broderick (Nice Work If You Can Get It), Tony Danza ("Who's The Boss"), Kathleen Marshall (Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Pajama Game), Greg Naughton (Founder: Blue Light Theater Company), James Naughton (Chicago), Anthony Rapp (Rent), Tom Kitt (Next To Normal), Peter Cincotti (How Deep Is The Ocean) Eric Leviton (How Deep Is The Ocean), Lorinda Lisitza (Triumphant Baby!), and Michael Ogborn (Baby Case) and others to be announced will appear at the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) 2012 Annual Gala honoring Broadway star and multiple time Tony Award and Drama Desk nominee Kelli O'Hara on Sunday, November 11th at The Hudson Theatre (145 W. 44th Street) beginning at 6:00pm. Kelli is currently starring on Broadway in Nice Work If You Can Get It, and was seen on Broadway in South Pacific, The Pajama Game, The Light In The Piazza and many others.

Last night, October 9, The Iriduim Jazz Club welcomed Nicholas King, winner of the 2010 Julie Wilson Award and the 2012 Bistro Award for Outstanding Performer. King voiced the character of "Oscar" in Discovery Kids' "Kenny The Shark", and has opened for his mentor Liza Minnelli across the US since 2006. Since bursting onto the New York musical theater scene in 1995 with his short-lived, but highly-praised Off-Broadway revue Songs For a New World, and then winning a 1999 Tony Award for Best Score for another short-lived show, Parade, pundits have been consistently predicting Jason Robert Brown's membership into the musical theater composer pantheon. While he has quite made it there yet, this week at his concerts at 54 Below (September 11-15), Brown offered a preview of songs from upcoming musicals that could finally allow him entree among the gods of Broadway musical composing.

Music industry innovator and VH1 President Tom Calderone was honored tonight by the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function (IMNF) with its 12th annual Music Has Power Award.
