The Triad is honored to welcome to its stage the original ‘Cathy' in ‘The Last 5 Years,' Lauren Kennedy (‘Spamalot), and fellow Broadway veterans Tituss Burgess (‘The Little Mermaid'), Stephanie Umoh (‘Ragtime'), Kristy Cates (‘Wicked'), Matt DeAngelis (‘Hair'), Ashley Kate Adams (‘La Cage aux Folles'), Emily Afton (‘Hair'), Ryah Nixon (‘9 to 5,' nat'l tour), and Trevor McQueen (‘Annie Get Your Gun') for a one-night-only concert featuring the music of Georgia Stitt and Jason Robert Brown to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, with music direction by Benjamin Rauhala.

More than five years after its debut, the musical Jersey Boys continues to bring audiences around the world to their feet with the rags-to-riches tale of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. A global phenomenon, the record-breaking production has won awards for Best Musical on three continents, including the 2006 Tony® Award, while the platinum-selling Original Cast Recording album won a Grammy® Award for Best Musical Show Album in 2007. To celebrate the holidays, members of the award-winning Jersey Boys casts around the globe have come together to record a selection of Christmas classics in the style of The Four Seasons. This marks the first time that a Broadway show has released a holiday album.

For awhile now, we have been receiving press materials and hearing about The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), but never witnessed the group first-hand. Well, that all changed this past Saturday night, in Philadelphia, when we decided to go to the Kimmel Center and see the 2011 Summer-Intensive weekend showcase, this year titled TRUE COLORS. I can honestly say that our jaws dropped. Directed and hosted by the newest addition to their impressive faculty line-up, Richard Jay-Alexander, the evening was like watching a skillfull PLAYLIST of Broadway 'gold' and 'showstoppers.' Two ACTS worth!

Broadway and TV favorite Tituss Burgess makes his Bitter End debut at the legendary Greenwich Village venue Tuesday, July 12th at 9:30 PM. Having previously wowed Broadway audiences with his vocal prowess in Jersey Boys, The Little Mermaid, and Guys and Dolls, Burgess's own music steps into the spotlight as he sings his all new material. This one-night-only event will feature original work by Burgess that will be featured on an upcoming solo album. 'This will be a very intimate evening, featuring just a guitar and piano,' says Burgess.

Atlanta's Broadway dreams will come true for the 6th consecutive summer when The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) presents their acclaimed Summer Performing Arts Intensive Monday, June 13 through Sunday, June 19, 2011 at The Woodruff Arts Center (1280 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA). Director Matt Lenz (Catch Me if You Can) and a roster of Broadway veterans will work with aspiring young performers from the Atlanta area throughout the week in preparation for 'True Colors,' a one of a kind Broadway concert open to the public. Performances will take place at the Hertz Stage Saturday, June 18th at 2 pm and 7 pm and Sunday, June 19th at 1 pm and 5 pm.
