Silk Road Rising Artistic Director Jamil Khoury and Executive Director Malik Gillani have announced the World Premiere of The Lake Effect, written by Rajiv Joseph, directed by Timothy Douglas. The Lake Effect runs April 23 - May 26, 2013, in Pierce Hall at The Historic Chicago Temple Building, 77 W. Washington St, Chicago. Press opening is Saturday, April 27 at 4:00 pm.

Shakespeare & Company Announces 2013 Summer Season

Following a record-breaking 35th Season, Shakespeare & Company Artistic Director Tony Simotes is pleased to announce the 2013 summer lineup of plays that will take place in the Tina Packer Playhouse and the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre, including a number of special events that will underscore those productions. The highlights of the 2013 Summer Season include two full productions of Shakespeare: Love's Labour's Lost and Richard II, both of which will be performed for the first time on the Tina Packer Playhouse stage, as well as the previously announced Mother Courage and Her Children, directed by Simotes and starring Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis, Apollo Dukakis, and OBIE Award winner John Douglas Thompson. Tickets will go on sale on February 14, 2013, and can be purchased online at www.shakespeare.org or by calling 413-637-3353.

Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park Appoints Three Associate Artists

Playhouse in the Park Artistic Director Blake Robison announced today the appointment of three associate artists for the theatre. Timothy Douglas, KJ Sanchez and Michael Evan Haney will work with Robison as the institution's primary artists for the next two seasons.

The company recently staged a successful limited engagement production of the play - a biographical treatment based on correspondence between Charlotte and her life long friend Ellen Nussey, in May at Theater 511.
