Now according to the show's official Twitter page, the star is on the mend: '#JCM in good spirits. His knee being checked out by doctor. We hope he will return to Hedwig on Tuesday, our next scheduled performance.'

John Cameron Mitchell, who recently returned to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, injured his knee during the production's early show on Saturday night. He completed the performance, but was unable to perform the 10PM late show, as audience members were told when arriving for the show. A production source tells us that the star was headed to the doctor last night, and we will share further updates as we can.

John Cameron Mitchell, who recently returned to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and The Angry Inch, has extended his run in the acclaimed production by six weeks at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) due to popular demand. Last night, original star of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, John Cameron Mitchell, returned to the role he co-created with Stephen Trask for a limited eight week run opposite, Tony Award winner Lena Hall, who continues with the production as Yitzhak.

In an interview with Billboard, Tony-winning Hedwig and the Angry Inch star Neil Patrick Harris talked about this year's Best Musical Theater Album Grammy nomination for the Broadway show's cast recording, plus his overall experience acting in the award-winning production.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the hit musical revival and winner of four 2014 Tony Awards now playing at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street), is pleased to announce a third donation has been made to Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) as part of the show's ongoing partnership with the organization. This donation of $200,000 brings the total raised by Hedwig for HMI to $400,000 in less than one year.

Original star John Cameron Mitchell will return to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and The Angry Inch, which they debuted in the 1998 hit Off-Broadway production. Mitchell will step into the role on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre starting Wednesday, January 21 for a strictly limited eight week engagement. Mitchell will join co-star and Tony Award winner Lena Hall who continues with the production as Yitzhak.

Golden Globe and Drama Desk Award winner Michael C. Hall has extended his limited engagement in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Hall will play his final performance in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival on Sunday, January 18. Casting for the next Hedwig will be announced in the coming weeks.
