Houston Ballet to Present JUBILEE OF DANCE, Today

Camille A. Brown & Dancers, recognized for its visceral movement and unflinching approach to comedic and controversial themes, announces its upcoming New York return of Camille A. Brown's 2013 Mr. TOL E. RAncE. Presented as part of the 651 Arts 25th Anniversary Season, Black Dance: Traditions and Transformation series, the program will run two-nights at the Kumble Theater in Brooklyn, tonight and tomorrow, December 6-7, 2013. Scott Patterson will play live the original eclectic piano score-composed by Patterson, Brandon McCune, Jonathan Melville Pratt and Kurt 'KC' Clayton.

MOMIX to Bring REMIX to Joyce Theater, 12/17-1/5

Moses Pendleton's wildly popular MOMIX will return to The Joyce Theater for three-weeks this holiday season with reMIX, a collection of the company's most striking images from over 30 years of work from December 17 - January 5. New York Premiere of Ballet Preljocaj's SNOW WHITE Set for Lincoln Center, April 23-27, 2014

The Joyce Theater Foundation will present the New York premiere of Ballet Preljocaj's widely praised production of Snow White, with choreography by Angelin Preljocaj at the David H. Koch Theater. This international eventwill only be in New York City for six performances, from April 23 - 27, 2014. Preljocaj's Snow White marks the third Joyce Theater presentation in as many years at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater, following the acclaimed 2012 engagement of Sylvie Guillem in 6000 miles away and last year's spectacular appearance by The Netherlands Dans Theater. FOCUS DANCE is a part of FOCUS 2014, the National Platform to promote American dance both abroad and nationally. The week-long platform presents performances of U.S. based dance companies during the annual Arts Presenters Conference in New York City, and one of the largest gatherings of artists, dancers and dance professionals in the U.S. In January 2014, two venues partner with Gotham Arts Exchange to present the artistic visions of the curators gathered to shape the 2014 edition of FOCUS.

On Monday, November 11th the American Dance Machine for the 21st Century performed “Next Look,” an exclusive benefit showing in preparation for the company's full-length New York City debut at the Joyce Theater next year. The benefit performance included reconstructed works from show-stopping musicals such as Contact, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, and Promises Promises.

Juilliard Dance, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, presents New Dances PLUS: Edition 2013 from December 11-15, 2013featuring Juilliard alumna Pina Bausch's Wind von West (Wind from the West) performed by 4th-Year Dancers, plus three world premiere commissions created for each of the classes of Juilliard's Dance Division. There will be a memorial celebration for Paul Szilard (Dancer, Producer, Impresario and great friend to the arts) today, October 31st, 2013 at 1:30 pm at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue at 18th Street, NYC. There will be performances by the Martha Graham Dance Company, The Avlin Ailey American Dance Theater and Universal Ballet's Kirov Academy of Ballet; as well as reflections from some of his friends.
