North by Northeast (NXNE) and AOL Canada today announce that three-time Grammy-Award winning group The Flaming Lips will headline a free show at Yonge-Dundas Square on Saturday, June 16. Celebrating its 18th year, NXNE Music presents more than 650 artists for 300,000 attendees and generates more than $47 million for the city. NXNE takes over Toronto June 11-17, 2012.

La Jolla Playhouse today announced its final production of the 2012/2013 season: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, a world-premiere musical written and directed by Playhouse Director Emeritus Des McAnuff (Jesus Christ Superstar, Jersey Boys), with music and lyrics by The Flaming Lips. The show will run in November/December 2012 (dates TBA) in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

Taking place from March 1 - 4 in the Carnival Studio Theater, MIAMI MADE FESTIVAL 2012 will feature the work of 10 artists representing the incredible breadth of work emanating from Miami's ever-evolving artistic scene, including five new interdisciplinary theatrical performances (two of them world premieres!). The 2012 installment of MIAMI MADE FESTIVAL has also expanded to include more genres of the performing arts - with the inclusion, for the first time, of live concerts showcasing new music throughout the weekend and a photo exhibition.
