Continuing their mission of developing new works and cultivating the next generation of playwrights, Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Artistic Director) will present a reading of David Koteles' The Cook's Tour, directed by Chris Henry. The reading will take place on Tuesday, February 8 at 6PM.The free reading will take place at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30 Street) reservations can be made by calling 212 421-1380.

In its ninth year, Modfest is Vassar College's exploration of the arts of the 20th and 21st centuries. This year's program will celebrate the visual arts, dance, drama, film, literature, poetry, and music in a series of events that will take place across the Vassar campus from January 20 through February 5, 2011.

Cole Escola, acclaimed for his inspired musical performances in Joe's Pub's recurring smash Our Hit Parade and Casserole Live, the live performance component of his hit television series, Jeffery & Cole Casserole, makes his eagerly anticipated solo debut. With Cole's broad showmanship and sweetheart charm, his act will hearken back to a time when the great ladies of stage and screen dazzled the crowds in smoky rooms all over town. An exciting bill of standards, showtunes, Motown and original material brought to life by Cole's decidedly fresh perspective and raw energy under the direction of Ben Rimalower (Leslie Kritzer is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches) and featuring a band led by Bistro Award-winner Ray Fellman. Cole Escola premieres at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street) on Friday and Saturday, January 28th and 29th at 11:30 PM.

Conductor Daniel Harding To Make New York Philharmonic Debut 3/3

Conductor Daniel Harding will make his debut performance with the New York Philharmonic on Thursday, March 3 at 7:30 PM at Avery Fisher Hall, with additional concerts on Friday, March 4 at 2:00 PM and Saturday, March 5 at 8:00 PM. Mr. Harding, who has been described by the New York Times as 'one of the consequential artists of his generation,' will lead the ensemble in Mahler's Symphony No. 4, with soprano Lisa Milne singing Das himmlische Leben, a ‘Humoresque' for voice and orchestra which serves as the symphony's culminating fourth movement. The program will also feature concertmaster Glenn Dicterow in a performance of Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1, a work marked by the composer's unique musical language which spans late Romanticism, impressionism, and polytonality.
