The Arts Initiative and Miller Theatre at Columbia University have announced the 2nd annual MORNINGSIDE LIGHTS, which kicks off Saturday, September 14 with a week of daily free participatory arts workshops (through Friday, September 20), and culminates in a procession on Saturday, September 21. Maria Muldaur & The Campbell Brothers to Perform at Skirball Cultural Center, 8/22

On Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 8:00 p.m., Maria Muldaur and The Campbell Brothers perform together for the first time at the Skirball Cultural Center as part of this year's Sunset Concerts. Best known for her Grammy-winning mega-hit "Midnight at the Oasis," Muldaur teams up with guitarists Chuck and Darick Campbell, as well as a dynamic rhythm section led by Phil and Carlton Campbell, for a world premiere collaboration combining traditional blues, African-American gospel, and The Campbell Brothers' signature steel guitars.

TAKE Dance, the New York City-based contemporary dance troupe led by Artistic Director/Founder Takehiro Ueyama, presents DARK MOURNING - two nights of world premiere works on Friday, September 27th& Saturday, September 28th at NYC's Peter Norton Symphony Space. The program will include: the world premieres of the eponymous Dark Mourning by Take Ueyama, and a specially choreographed new work by renowned choreographer/master teacher Kazuko Hirabayashi; along with the fan favorite and critically acclaimed Flight.

On Sunday 15th September, as part of the St James' Studio Cabaret Weekends, Jonathan Reid Gealt will be in concert showcasing his new album "Here For You - Ballads for Broadway Impact". (UMC) will launch its fifth anniversary celebration with a new Off-Broadway production of the 1950 musical revue Bless You All! with sketches by Emmy Award winner Arnold Auerbach ('The Phil Silvers Show,' Call Me Mister) and a score by acclaimed songwriter Harold Rome (Fanny, Destry Rides Again). Directed by UMC artistic director Ben West (The Fig Leaves Are Falling, At Home Abroad), the limited three-week engagement will run Sep 19 - Oct 5 at The Connelly Theatre (220 East 4th Street), officially opening September 22.

Juilliard Dance, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, opens its 2013-2014 season with New Dances PLUS: Edition 2013, Wednesday, December 11 through Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater and features Juilliard alumna Pina Bausch's Wind von West (Wind from the West) performed by the Senior Class, plus three world premiere commissions created for each of the classes of Juilliard's Dance Division. Next season's innovative choreographers are Juilliard alumnus Takehiro Ueyama (1st Year Dancers); Brian Brooks (2nd Year Dancers); and Juilliard alumnus Darrell Grand Moultrie (3rd Year Dancers).
