On Tuesday, June 18th, 2013, Rosemary Loar opens an encore run of her critically acclaimed cabaret creation: a show that showcases the genius of songwriting legends, Harold Arlen and Duke Elliington. Special guest, master trumpeter Waldron Ricks, will add to the smokey 1930's jazz club atmosphere of the evening. An inventive force in the cabaret world for over 30 years, last year Rosemary Loar was honored with the 2012 MAC Hanson Award for continuing excellence.

Artistic Director Robert Lyons presents the 20th annual Obie Award-winning Ice Factory Festival. Ice Factory 2013 takes place at the New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. Ice Factory 2013 will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with six new works over six weeks, running from June 26 - August 3, 2013.

Conductors Delta David Gier and Oliver Hagen will replace Gil Rose for American Composers Orchestra's Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute (JCOI) Readings on Monday, June 3 at 10am (working rehearsal) and Tuesday, June 4 at 7:30pm(run-through) at Columbia University's Miller Theatre (2960 Broadway). Rose has withdrawn with regrets, due to a family emergency. Both events are free and open to the public, but reservations are suggested. ACO is one of three orchestras participating this year in JCOI Readings - the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (April 23 & 24) and La Jolla Symphony & Chorus (September 19 & 20) are also workshopping, rehearsing, and giving public readings of new works for symphony orchestra by jazz composers.

The Story Pirates (Benjamin Salka, CEO; Lee Overtree, Artistic Director), a national arts integration education organization, announces its annual Story Pirates & Friends Benefit on Friday, June 7th 2013 at Peter Norton Symphony Space (2537 Broadway). Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8:00 pm.

Cornelia Street Cafe proudly presents Happy Birthday W.B. Yeats, an evening of poetry by the famous Irish poet as part of its ongoing poetry series. The Yeats tribute will take place on Monday, June 10th at 6 and features Bernadette Quigley, Dee Nelson, Jarlath Conroy and Paul Hecht with original music by composer/pianist Ellen Mandel and tenor Michael Slattery.

'Here and Now' is dedicated to covering the latest issues, news stories, and trends that are impacting the local black community. Ms. Renaye, an emerging African-American playwright, will discuss the semi-autobiographical drama she wrote as a way of working through the battle she and her sisters endured caring for their afflicted brother.

Jersey Tap Fest, NJ's sole dance festival featuring world-class tap faculty and extravaganza, celebrates four years August 22-25, 2013 in Bloomfield, NJ. The four-day festival will offer more than 30 tap dance classes and a main stage celebration event TAP 'N TIME. Today, May 12 at 5pm at Peter Norton Symphony Space on New York's Upper West Side, the Listen To Your Mother Reading Series (www.ListenToYourMotherShow.com) will give 'Mother's Day a Microphone' as the city and an inspirational group of women and men come together to celebrate motherhood and parenting in a meaningful new way.
