Fisher Landau Center for Art is excited to announce 'LEGACY: Selections from Emily Fisher Landau's Gift to the Whitney Museum of American Art', on view through March 28th, 2016. Occupying the first floor gallery of the Center, the installation includes artwork by Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, Agnes Martin, Mark Tansey, Richard Artschwager, Susan Rothenberg, John Baldessari, Barbara Kruger, Ed Ruscha, Annette Lemieux and Rudolf Stingel, curated from Mrs. Landau's historic pledge of over 400 artworks by nearly 100 artists.

Amphibian Stage Productions will show a film of the National Theatre of London's production of THE BEAUX' STRATAGEM by George Farquhar today, November 18 at 2pm and 7pm, and Saturday November 21 at 1pm, in partnership with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. This will be the eleventh National Theatre Live screening of Amphibian's 2015 season.

Theater Ninjas, which bills itself as 'the Food Truck of Cleveland Theater' due to its having no permanent home, but relishes its nomadic pattern of trying out 'new and exciting spaces to perform,' is noted for rethinking what theater can be. According to its Artistic Director, Jeremy Paul, the theater is 'committed to making our region and our home a better place to live.' The theater's newest attempt to achieve its goal is a production of Cleveland native Caroline V. McGraw's TALL SKINNY CRUEL CRUEL BOYS.

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble concludes its 2014 Summer Concert Series today, August 29th at St. Andrew's Church in Kent and tomorrow, August 30th at the Lake Mauweehoo Club in Sherman with a program including a flute concerto by CPE Bach, Tchaikovsky's 'Souvenir de Florence' and a new work for string sextet by SCE Artistic Director Eliot Bailen. Performers are Jill Levy and Ming Hsin (violin), Sarah Adams and Mary Hammann (viola), Eliot Bailen and Lindy Clarke (cello) and Susan Rotholz (flute).

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble is pleased to present free family concerts at 2 PM on Friday, July 11th at the Kent Memorial Library on Main Street in Kent and at 2 PM on Saturday, July 12th at the Sherman Library in Sherman Center. Youngsters of all ages (and their parents) are invited to join SCE Artistic Director Eliot Bailen and Ensemble members for a musical program that is interactive and entertaining as well as educational. "Beethoven: Questions and Answers" invites the audience to join cellist Bailen, violinists Jill Levy and Doori Na, violist Mary Hamman and flutist Susan Rotholz as they ask and answer musical questions focusing on composer Ludwig van Beethoven, whose famous String Quartet Opus 135 is featured on the Ensemble's evening chamber music concerts that weekend.

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble is honored to announce that its annual spring program will feature "Dawn," a work created by the talented young composer Paul Frucht in tribute to slain Sandy Hook principal Dawn Hochsprung. Performances will take place at the Jewish Community Center in Sherman on Saturday, April 26 at 8:00 PM and on Sunday, April 27 at 3:00 PM at the Brookfield Library. Also on the program will be works for flute, harp, clarinet, violin and cello by J.S. Bach, Handel, Muczynski, Wourinen and David Brandenburg, along with selections from the American Songbook.

Art Institute of Chicago Announces Appointment of Susanne Ghez as Adjunct Curator

The Art Institute of Chicago has announced the appointment of Susanne Ghez, former executive director and chief curator of the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago, as Adjunct Curator in the Department of Contemporary Art, effective immediately. In this capacity, Ghez will bring her seasoned expertise in contemporary art to all aspects of the museum's engagement with the field, including exhibitions, acquisitions, and collections. She will represent the museum in Chicago, around the country, and abroad, traveling widely to visit contemporary artists and institutions, and engaging on behalf of the Art Institute in global contemporary programming.
