11th Hour Theatre Company finishes 2016 with a brand-new series. The company is introducing The Spotlight Series, a cabaret series designed to put Philadelphia's favorite musical theatre performers front and center. Each show is one night only. All shows are upstairs at World Cafe Live Philadelphia, 3025 Walnut Street. Tickets cost $40. 11th Hour Theatre Company continues its 12th season with its second Next Step Concert Series performance. This time the series features a brand-new musical by three up and coming writers. Five Points, comes to the Next Step Concert Series, November 18-20. Five Points features Music written by Douglas Lyons and Ethan Pakchar, Lyrics by Douglas Lyons, and a Book by Harrison David Rivers.  The concert will be at The Arden's Studio Theatre at the Hamilton Family Arts Center. 62 N. This evening, in a celebration attended by approximately 900 theatre artists, staff, critics, and friends, Theatre Philadelphia distributed 27 awards at the 2016 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre, including the first-ever Victory Foundation Award for Outstanding Theatre Education Program.

Following 13 Barrymore nominations and a sold-out run for Tommy and Me, Theatre Exile continues their 20th Anniversary Season with the Philadelphia premiere of Guards at the Taj by playwright Rajiv Joseph. Based on dark myths surrounding the building of the Taj Mahal, this bold and surprising comedy is the story of two hapless guards that ultimately learn the ugly truth about one of the most beautiful wonders of the world. When asked to perform an unthinkable task, the pair struggle between loyalty, friendship and staying true to one's self.

11th Hour Theatre Company is heading back to the 80s this Spring with its first commission. The company is finalizing the World Premiere of Michael Ogborn's Field Hockey Hot - its first World Premiere and commission. This gender-bending field hockey musical will run tonight, March 5-22. Opening night is Monday, March 9 at 7 p.m.
