Throughline Artists (J.J. Kandel, Executive Producer; John McCormack, Producing Artistic Director) will present SUMMER SHORTS 2013, their seventh annual festival of new American short plays from established and emerging writers, at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street). Performances will begin Friday July 19th, and continue through Saturday August 31st only.

All summer and into the fall, Fox Valley Repertory brings nostalgic musicals and relatable comedies to the Pheasant Run Mainstage. The summer includes: the rocking '60s musical, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, FVR Youth Ensembles journey across the famous yellow brick road, The Wizard Of Oz, the insightful and comical play, Defending the Caveman, Mike Toomey's multimedia comedic recollection of television in TV & Me, Chicago's finest improv troupe performing The Best of The Second City, and a classic tribute to the legendary composer Cole Porter, Let's Misbehave , at Pheasant Run Resort (4051 E. Three world premieres, seven productions in all, are scheduled for the 10th season at the Douglas. The works range from a new rock musical to a sweeping new drama to a masterful interpretation of the works of Beckett, plus the bonus option of The Second City's one-of-a-kind Christmas show. In addition, three Los Angeles solo artists will be presented in the popular DouglasPlus program, and will represent CTG in the Radar L.A. festival.

Museum of the Moving Image will present a preview screening of The Way, Way Back, the eagerly anticipated summer comedy from Fox Searchlight, tonight, June 27, at 7:00 p.m. Following the screening, directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (the team that won an Oscar for writingThe Descendants), and the film's stars Liam James and Sam Rockwell will participate in a discussion with Chief Curator David Schwartz. The film, which opens in theaters July 5, also features Steve Carell, Allison Janney, Zoe Levin, and Toni Collette.

Columbia Records will release 'The Way, Way Back: Music From The Motion Picture,' the soundtrack from the new film from writer/directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, on July 2, 2013.
