Choreographer Lydia Johnson will present her LYDIA JOHNSON DANCE  in a program of new and repertory works to music that ranges from Philip Glass to the trio sonatas of Handel.  The season's premiere will be Undercurrent, a group work for the Company's eight resident dancers joined by four apprentices, and set to music by one of the choreographer's favorite composers, Henryk Gorecki.  Special guest for the season will be STEPHEN HANNA, former principal dancer with New York City Ballet.  DEBORAH WINGERT, former 15-year member of New York City Ballet, returns as company ballet mistress.

Carnegie Hall announced today that its one-night-only benefit concert performance of Leonard Bernstein's Candide on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage will feature Broadway starsRyan Silverman (Side Show, Cry-Baby,Chicago) as Maximilian and Bryonha Marie Parham (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, AfterMidnight, Prince of Broadway) as Paquette. They join the previously announced Paul Appleby (Candide), Erin Morley (Cunegonde),Patricia Racette (Old Lady), William Burden(Governor), and John Lithgow (Voltaire / Dr. Pangloss).

Francis Patrelle (Artistic Director/Resident Choreographer) founded Dances Patrelle in 1988 as an outlet for his choreography. Patrelle engages professional dancers and, for The Yorkville Nutcracker, he invites students of Ballet Academy East to dance many of the roles, as Nutcracker productions traditionally use children and young dancers for a large number of roles. This year marks the 22nd anniversary of Dances Patrelle's The Yorkville Nutcracker, which I saw on December 8, 2017.

Westport Country Playhouse will host a list of accomplished Broadway performers tonight for third annual benefit gala, Broadway Sings, benefiting the resident conservatory of the Playhouse, Broadway Method Academy (BMA).

Broadway Method Academy (BMA), a non-profit musical theater-training program, will hold its third annual benefit gala, Broadway Sings, on Monday, November 27 at the prestigious Westport Country Playhouse.

???????The students of the Summer Musical Theater Intensive at Broadway Method Academy in Fairfield, CT had the amazing opportunity to work with Tony Award Winner, Kelli O'Hara (Light in the Piazza, South Pacific, King & I).  The Tony Winner shared stories of her theatrical journey and spoke of the importance of capitalizing on uniqueness. Students had the chance to ask O'Hara questions about life and the business, and a few were able to sing for the Tony winner. Students were extremely grateful to take part in such a special experience.

William Shakespeare's classic drama about politics and power. Presented in a modern setting, the production gives the audience new insights into the pressurized culture of honor, fame, war, and betrayal. Performances are May 25 thru June 18, 2017.  Thursdays through Sundays @ 8pm. To commemorate tonight's official opening of Hello, Dolly! starring Bette Midler on Broadway, Mayor Bill de Blasio will officially proclaim tomorrow, Friday, April 21, 'Dolly Day' in New York City.

The revival of Hello, Dolly opens tonight on Broadway, starring Bette Midler and featuring a star-studded cast. The Broadway revival of Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's masterpiece Hello, Dolly! is directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle. Get to know the cast before they take their opening bows!

Masterworks Broadway has announced the release of The New Broadway Cast Recording of Hello, Dolly! starring three-time Grammy Award-winning legend Bette Midler as Dolly Gallagher Levi.

A sense of fulfillment fills his body as he sees his reflection in the hazy mirror. The music begins, and he suddenly feels completely comfortable in a place he only arrived at a few weeks prior. Each beat of the song sends pulses through the somewhat scratched up flooring, up through his bare feet, taking over his entire body. His demeanor is peaceful, passionate and powerful as he commands his way across the floor with the other dancers, each movement a new discovery in his mind. As the combination comes to an end, finishing with a grand jeté into a graceful arabesque par terre, 18 year old Nick Nazzaro remains in disbelief that he is spending his days dancing in the city of his dreams.

Wilmington Ballet Academy of the Dance will have some distinguished company this year as it celebrates its 50th Nutcracker at the Playhouse on Rodney Square on December 3rd and 4th.  Governor Jack Markell and First Lady Carla Markell will be appearing in the Today matinee show at 2pm to help kick off the anniversary performance.  

Wilmington Ballet Academy of the Dance will have some distinguished company this year as it celebrates its 50th Nutcracker at the Playhouse on Rodney Square on December 3rd and 4th.  Governor Jack Markell and First Lady Carla Markell will be appearing in the Saturday matinee show at 2pm to help kick off the anniversary performance.  

Producer Scott Rudin announced that, with the addition to the company of Beanie Feldstein, in the role of 'Minnie Fay,' principal casting is now complete for the upcoming Broadway revival of Michael Stewart (book) and Jerry Herman's (music and lyrics) Hello, Dolly!, starring the legendary Bette Midler. Directed by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Tony Award winnerWarren Carlyle, Hello, Dolly! will begin performances at Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street) on March 15, 2017, with an official opening night of April 20, 2017.

October 24th from 7pm at Stage 48, 605 West 48th Street, HIV HERO will present the third annual HIV HERO Broadway & Ballet HERO Awards.
