Casting has been announced for the London production of Jersey Boys, the Tony Award award-winning Broadway musical. The show will open in London's West End at the Prince Edward Theatre on Tuesday March 18, 2008, following previews from February 28, 2008. The London cast will be headed by Ryan Molloy as Frankie Valli, Stephen Ashfield as Bob Gaudio, Glenn Carter as Tommy DeVito and Philip Bulcock as Nick Massi.

New Musical 'Imagine This' in Plymouth Lacks Imagination

Often musicals or plays that deal with highly emotive subjects can be accused of taking themselves too seriously and run the risk of becoming pretentious. The problem with the new musical 'Imagine This' is that it perhaps does not take itself seriously enough. Set in the Warsaw Ghetto during the winter of 1942, where a group of Jewish actors attempt to perform a musical play about the last stand of the Jewish Zealots at Masada in 70 A.D., it has the potential to be a genuinely powerful piece of musical theatre. But the world premiere production at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth fails to achieve that potential.

'Tomorrow Morning' Original Cast Recording Released

The 2006 New End Theatre Cast Recording of the new British musical, Tomorrow Morning, has finally been released this month after many delays, under the Dress Circle record label - the original release date had been scheduled for early December 2006. The recording is presented over fifteen tracks, and comes with a special extra bonus DVD featuring footage from the show, recording and interviews with the cast and creatives. A West End production of Tomorrow Morning is to be mounted towards the end of this year.
