The Stephen Sondheim Theatre will soon be home to the upcoming Broadway revival of Horton Foote's beloved classic, The Trip to Bountiful, starring Cicely Tyson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Vanessa Williams, Condola Rashad and Tom Wopat. Directed by Michael Wilson, The Trip to Bountiful will play a 14-week limited engagement, beginning previews on Saturday, March 30th at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St). The Juilliard School today announced a $10 million gift that completes the endowment of the School's new four-year masters-level graduate program in Drama. The gift supports increased instructional costs and new faculty, and provides full scholarships plus stipends for actors in their final and fourth year of the master of fine arts program in Drama. Juilliard's Board Chairman and his wife, Bruce and Suzie Kovner initiated a matching challenge grant of up to $5 million to endow Juilliard Drama's MFA program, with donors John A. and Carole Moran and The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust completing that challenge.

Signature Theatre has announced an additional four-week extension for the world premiere of OLD HATS, created and performed by Tony Award winners Bill Irwin and David Shiner, with music by and featuring Nellie McKay, and directed by Tina Landau. This is the third extension for the production, which will now play through Thursday, May 9. The production opened on Monday, March 4 on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Tickets during the extension weeks are $75 each.

The Brown Paper Box Co. presents CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: A Miscast Cabaret on Saturday, March 23 at 8pm. This one-night cabaret will feature appearances from The Brown Paper Box Co. artistic associates and former cast members performing as characters they would never play due to age, gender, voice type, race, etc. CHARACTER BREAKDOWN will be presented at Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret, 1383 N.
