Over 1,300 students from 25 schools and organizations throughout Maine recently attended five Student Matinee performances of The Public Theatre's acclaimed production of ‘A Christmas Carol.'

Just in time for the holidays, the comedy feature LOVE IN KILNERRY is now available to rent! The film will also be available in the UK/Ireland on December 6th and debuts in Australia on January 10, 2023.

The Public Theatre presents the Maine Premiere of Be Here Now, an intriguing comedy about happiness, running June 17-26. 

This holiday season, for one weekend only, Dec 13, 14, and 15th, The Public Theatre, will present their acclaimed adaptation of A Christmas Carol followed by a holiday singa?"a-long featuring Christmas Carol fiddler Jennifer Armstrong. The Public Theatre's own version of Dickens' classic has become a favorite holiday tradition in Lewiston/Auburn.

The 12th Annual Jersey Shore Film Festival will present the feature film comedy 'Love in Kilnerry' on June 27 and 28th, 2019 at The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park. The film is fresh off it's premiere at the Soho International Film Festival in NYC on June 23rd.

The Shelter (winners of Best Overall Play at FringeNYC 2015 with Night of the Living) will present the World Premiere of THE RED ROOM, a new American drama by Morgan McGuire. Directed by Jenny Beth Snyder, previews begin July 14 at TBG Theatre. Opening night is slated for Sunday, July 17.

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present the New Jersey Premiere of Sharyn Rothstein's Off-Broadway hit By the Water from July 16th through August 2nd in the Zella Fry Theatre. In this moving new play directed by Adam Immerwahr, Hurricane Sandy wields its force upon the home of Marty and Mary Murphy, threatening to destroy not only the life they have built together but the neighborhood they grew up in. Will Marty manage to save his neighborhood and his home, or are the secrets unearthed by the storm too powerful to overcome? Described by The New York Times as 'drawn with acute sympathy and in gritty detail," this gripping and affecting play will feature actors Damian Buzzerio, Mike DiSalvo, Billy Finn, Deanna McGovern, Brian O'Neill, Sheila Stasack and Jo Twiss.

MOMMALOGUES, a play written by Lehigh Valley playwrights Sharon Lee Glassman and Gretchen Klinedinst-Furst, which had its world premiere at Civic Theatre of Allentown in May 2012, will make a move to New York City later this month for six performances beginning May 22 through June 2. The show, which is a collection of emotionally charged monologues honoring mothers and the unique and astonishing bond they share with their daughters, will have its New York premiere at The Barrow Group Mainstage Theatre, 312 W 36th Street in Manhattan as part of the season of the non-profit Marvell Repertory Theatre.

Mint Theater Company today announced that Jill Abramovitz, Mary Ellen Ashley, Dale Carmen, Matthieu Cornillon, Margaret Daly, Linda Gabler, Jennifer Harmon, Jordan Lage (Speed the Plow), Kate Levy, Dani Marcus, Chris Mixon, Cass Morgan (Memphis), Saxon Palmer, Kraig Swartz, Sheila Stasack, Peter Van Wagner, and Virginia Wing, will join Kristen Johnston (last seen in the Mint production of So Help Me God!, for which she received a Drama Desk nomination) in THE NAKED GENIUS written by Gypsy Rose Lee, on Monday, June 14th at Carolines on Broadway (1626 Broadway between 49th & 50th Streets).

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-wining Mint Theater Company (Jonathan Bank, Artistic Director) continues the 2008-2009 season with The Widowing Of Mrs. Holroyd by D.H. Lawrence opening March 1st. Today Mint announced it would extend the production through April 5th. Five years ago Mint Theater introduced New York audiences to D. H. Lawrence - the playwright - with their highly acclaimed production of The Daughter-in-Law, which was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival and named one of the highlights of 2003 by The New York Times. Audiences and critics alike were surprised to learn that Lawrence had written a play - in fact he wrote eight.
