The tour officially kicks off in Denver at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House on July 28, 2009.

Join L.A. Theatre Works for a pre-election day broadcast of a rare and timely revival of 'The Rivalry' by Norman Corwin starring David Strathairn and Paul Giamatti. The LATW-recorded production, which includes an interview with the two stars, is set to air on public radio stations around the country, as well as on XM Satellite radio, throughout the weekend as follows.

The Los Angeles premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Schenkkan's By the Waters of Babylon brings two award-winning, long-time theater actors to the Geffen stage for the first time: Demián Bichir and Shannon Cochran. Bichir, who is currently starring as Mary Louise-Parker's love interest on Showtime's Weeds, will play the role of Arturo, a Cuban immigrant who is hired to (coincidentally) weed the garden of unconventional Austin widow Catherine. Cochran, who will star as Catherine, is straight from Chicago where she starred in sold out performances of The Lion in Winter at the Writers Theatre.

Today, the Jefferson Awards announced the 150 nominations in 35 categories for Chicago Equity theatrical productions which opened between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008. Beginning with this season, the Jeff Awards is acknowledging the work of Large and Midsize theatres in separate categories for productions and technical elements.
