Less than twenty four hours after celebrating the opening of Grease at Paper Mill, we found ourselves back in tech! This time, our sleepy cast was standing on the deck of the sparkling Skirball Center, preparing to honor Pat Birch at this year's Fred and Adele Astaire Awards. Birch is, of course, the five-time Tony Award nominee and two-time Emmy Award-winning choreographer who staged the musical numbers for original Broadway production of Grease, and both subsequent films. At the Astaire Awards, she was being honored with the Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award.

Broadway In Chicago has announced the return engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The musical will make its much-anticipated return to Chicago to play the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W Randolph) for the first time May 12 through May 24, 2015.

The 32nd Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards were held on Monday, June 2 at 7:30pm at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The Second National Tour of Jersey Boys, the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical, will play its 1,000th performance at the Plaza Theater in El Paso, TX on Sunday, June 1 at 7:30pm, the final performance of the El Paso engagement. Following this historic performance, Jersey Boys will play an engagement at Bass Hall in Fort Worth, TX from June 3 - 15.

Flashdance, the 1980's Paramount Pictures movie which led to the creation of the MTV format has been translated to the stage by a group which includes the original film creative team. The show tells the story of Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel mill welder by day and a bar dancer by night with dreams of one day becoming a professional performer.

The 2010 Tony Award-winning Best Musical MEMPHIS is currently playing a smoldering, soul-stirring run at the Capitol Theatre.

La Jolla Playhouse presents its Page To Stage workshop production of Chasing the Song, a jubilant new musical by the team behind the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis, featuring book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, music and lyrics by David Bryan and directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley.
