The North Carolina Symphony will pay tribute to iconic music and lavish shows in the finale of its 2014-15 Pops series, Pops Goes Vegas, tonight, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, at 8 p.m. in Meymandi Concert Hall in downtown Raleigh. The concert program, which features such classic numbers as 'Luck Be A Lady,' 'Hey, Big Spender,' 'Viva Las Vegas,' 'My Way,' and 'Fly Me to the Moon,' will be led by conductor Jack Everly, and will feature Martin Preston as Liberace, vocalists Scott Beck, Allison Briner, and Ted Keegan, and lead dancers Anne Nicole Beck and Jen Ladner.

Broadway's biggest Blockbuster, WICKED, flew out of the Majestic Theatre on Sunday, March 30, after a 24-performance return engagement in San Antonio presented by Broadway in San Antonio. Over 57,000 patrons were in attendance this time around. Principal photography has begun on "Very Good Girls," written and directed by Naomi Foner, with Dakota Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, Boyd Holbrook, Demi Moore, Ellen Barkin, Richard Dreyfuss, Clark Gregg, Kiernan Shipka and Peter Sarsgaard. Norton Herrick's Herrick Entertainment is producing and financing the project with Michael London's Groundswell Productions producing. "Very Good Girls" will shoot on location in New York.

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra has a special concert coming up this week called POPS Goes Vegas! Part of their POPS Concert Series, this particular show is being conducted by world renowned conductor (and Broadway veteran) Jack Everly. The Nashville Symphony today announced new members for its 2009/10 Board of Directors, including Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas, whose Rob Bironas Fund is partnering with the Symphony to provide music education to the children of Nashville. The Board has also elected two new officers. Noted Nashville attorney James C. Gooch was elected as Chairman, while SunTrust Chairman, President and CEO Robert E. McNeilly III was chosen as Chairman-Elect, both for two-year terms effective immediately.
