Singer-Songwriter Rufus Wainwright Comes to WHBPAC Tonight

The East End of Long Island's own singer-songwriter, Rufus Wainwright, who released a 'Best Of' compilation earlier this year titled Vibrate, will perform his most popular hits in a solo show at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center tonight, June 20 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $60, $100, $140 and are available online at www.whbpac.org.

WFUV to Broadcast Clearwater Festival, 6/21-22

WFUV (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) will be broadcasting live for the first time from Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, on both Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22. This year's festival, which is dedicated to founders Pete and Toshi Seeger, both of whom died in the past year, has a star-studded lineup. WFUV will be on-site broadcasting live from 2-9 p.m. on Saturday and 12-8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Virtually the entire WFUV air staff will be on hand to introduce the artists onstage, share backstage interviews and observations, and meet fans at the FUV booth.

On Saturday June 14th, pop, jazz, and musical theatre stars from all over the world joined forces at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto to perform in 'If I Loved You: Gentlemen Prefer Broadway,' a concert showcasing and redefining love songs from classic Broadway musicals. For the finale, the cast, which included David Byrne, Boy George, Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend), Josh Groban, Brent Carver, Steven Page, Brennan Hall and concert organizer Rufus Wainwright, sang their own rendition of 'Summer Nights' from Grease.

New York City's favorite multi-hypenate, Julian Fleisher, is Finally done with his new album and he's ready for the world to hear it. Today, May 13, 2014 Julian will release Finally on Modern Records and he's partnered up with Out Magazine to premiere his first single, the album's title track and also the song that means the most to Julian. Of the song, he says, 'I think I wrote 'Finally' when a friend was over for lunch when I was sick. While we chatted, I had the guitar under my arm and I was absentmindedly picking away as we talked.' He goes on, 'I couldn't begin to tell you what we discussed, but by the time lunch was over, the song was halfway done. Written while flying on Robitussin, espresso, chicken soup and Advil.' Julian will be celebrating the release of Finally with an album release show at Joe's Pub on May 14, 2014.
