Mark Rylance, three-time Tony Award winner (Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing, Twelfth Night) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies), will return to Broadway in the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING, a new play with music by author and composer Claire van Kampen, it was announced today by producers Sonia Friedman, Shakespeare's Globe and Paula Marie Black.

Beautiful - the Carole King Musical will make its Detroit premiere at the Fisher Theatre from December 13th to January 8th. The Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical is about early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter filled with the songs she wrote like 'I Feel the Earth Move,' 'One Fine Day,' and the title song. 'The music she wrote is so timeless and this show is like a concert in a way with the people singing along,' said Ximone Rose. 'It's a very feel good show and people just love it type of musical.'

The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra presents Romeo and Juliet today, October 8th, 8:00 pm at the Michigan Theater. The performance includes a dramatic musical retelling of the classic story of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet narrated by Ralph Williams with Brahms Tragic Overture and Haydn's Sinfonia Concertante, Op. 84. The evening will feature solos from special guests Aaron Berofsky on violin, Sarah Cleveland on cello, Christian Green on bassoon, Timothy Michling on oboe, and narration by Ralph Williams.

On Sunday, July 10, over one hundred black women artists gathered at the New Museum to form a collective force underground, known as Black Women Artists for Black Lives Matter (BWA for BLM). Simone Leigh, the New Museum's current artist-in-residence, whose exhibition 'The Waiting Room' is on view through September 18, convened this group in response to the continued inhumane institutionalized violence against black lives in the U.S.

Rose Theatre Kingston has announced several new productions for 2016. Trevor Nunn returns to the venue to direct Shakespeare's KING JOHN, while John Malkovich makes his London directorial stage debut with the English-language premiere of Zach Helm's GOOD CANARY, and acclaimed American director Michael Rudman presenting the first Arthur Miller play staged at the Rose.
