On Thursday, August 23rd, cast members from SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark (Matt Wilkas, Elizabeth Judd, Jodi McFadden, and Kristen Oei) performed at JFK airport to celebrate American Airlines as the new official airline of SPIDER-MAN. Check out photos from the big event below!

It's a fully produced sketch comedy experience in a theatrical, no-holds-barred look at Big D. The Second City Does Dallas runs at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre tonight, August 29 - Sunday, September 30.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) Holds National Conference In Boston, 6/21-6/23

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) convened 1,000 theatre practitioners from around the world at its 22nd National Conference June 21-23 in Boston. This year's conference was the culmination of TCG's 50th anniversary and the beginning of TCG's year-round conference and online community, Conference 2.0. The conference theme of Model the Movement invited attendees to transform their field into a movement for the digital age by better sharing, measuring and adapting models of making theatre. Executive Director Teresa Eyring also publically shared for the first time TCG's new vision statement.

DOCTOR WHO's Billie Piper to Make National Theatre Debut in THE EFFECT, Nov 6

According to the Daily Mail, DOCTOR WHO's Billie Piper will make her debut at the National Theatre in London opposite Jonjo O'Neill in Lucy Prebble's The Effect, set to begin performances Nov. 6. Headlong theatre company's Rupert Goold will direct the co-production with the National.

Today in 2011, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark opened at the Foxwoods Theatre, where it is still running. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is a rock musical with music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge and a book by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The musical is based on the Spider-Man comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, published by Marvel Comics, as well as the 2002 film about the character and the Greek myth of Arachne. lt tells the story of the origin of the character, his romance with Mary Jane and his battles with the evil Green Goblin.

Working Theater presents the Off-Broadway production of The Best of TheaterWorks!: Stories from the 99%. The production will feature six of the best short plays to come out of Working Theater's TheaterWorks! program. The 10-year old program teaches working men and women (bus drivers, doormen, 911 operators, DMV workers etc.) to write and perform their own short plays about their experiences at work. The classes end with a stage reading style performance where the students are teamed with professional actors and directors. This production however will be fully realized by a professional cast and crew.
