Second Stage Theatre will continue the 10th anniversary of its Uptown Series with the world premiere of Warrior Class, written by Kenneth Lin and directed by Evan Cabnet. Warrior Class stars Louis Ozawa Changchien (The Bourne Legacy), Katharine Powell (The Farnsworth Invention) and David Rasche (Speed the Plough). Previews begin on July 11th and opening night is Monday, July 23rd.
Working Theater Presents THE BEST OF THEATERWORKS: STORIES FROM THE 99%, 6/14-17

Working Theater presents the Off-Broadway production of The Best of TheaterWorks!: Stories from the 99%. The production will feature six of the best short plays to come out of Working Theater's TheaterWorks! program. The 10-year old program teaches working men and women (bus drivers, doormen, 911 operators, DMV workers etc.) to write and perform their own short plays about their experiences at work. The classes end with a stage reading style performance where the students are teamed with professional actors and directors. This production however will be fully realized by a professional cast and crew.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) kicks off the 10th anniversary of its Uptown Series with the world premiere of The Bad Guys, written by Alena Smith and directed by Hal Brooks. The Bad Guys will feature Michael Braun (War Horse), Roe Hartrampf (Unnatural Acts), James McMenamin (Suicide, Incorporated), Tobias Segal (The Miracle Worker) and Raviv Ullman (Russian Transport). Opening night is tonight, June 4th.

Last night, May 29, Katrina Lenk joined the cast of Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark in the role of "Arachne". Christina Sajous, who had currently played the role of "Arachne", played her final performance on Sunday, May 27th. Reeve Carney, Patrick Page, and Rebecca Faulkenberry continue in their roles as "Peter Parker/Spider-Man", "Norman Osborn/Green Goblin", and "Mary Jane Watson" respectively. Several months ago, 8 year old Armando Bigo was shot in the Bronx while out shopping with his mother. When SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark learned that he is a big time Spidey fan they invited him to the show. After an amazing recovery, he attended on Saturday afternoon with his best friend. In honor of Fleet Week, Broadway's own super hero Spider-Man, welcomed real American heroes from the U.S. Armed Services to New York City, sailing into New York Harbor aboard the USS Wasp in the "Parade of Ships" earlier today. Spider-Man was given a tour of the ship by the Admiral, took photos with sailors, and gave a salute to everyone onboard for their service.

According to the Associated Press, a stuntman from Broadway's SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK is considering suing the production over injuries suffered in 2010-11. Richard Kobak (Joshua Kobak according to cast lists for the show), claims not only that he suffered knee injuries while filling in for another cast member in 2010, but that 'a computer program controlling one of his jumps from a balcony sent him flying into a wall on April 5, 2011.'

Chloe Sevigny ("Big Love", Boys Don't Cry, American Psycho) is set to star in Abigail/1702, written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa with direction by David Esbjornson. Abigail/1702 runs from Wednesday, June 27th to Sunday, July 8th.

Producers Michael Cohl and Jeremiah J. Harris announced today that Katrina Lenk will be joining the cast of Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, in the role of "Arachne". Christina Sajous, who currently plays the role of "Arachne", will play her final performance on Sunday, May 27thwith Lenk assuming the role on Tuesday, May 29th.
