Gingold Theatrical Group is presenting SPEAKER'S CORNER Writers Group. This season, writers Aeneas Sagar Hemphill, Divya Mangwani, Marcus Scott and Mallory Jane Weiss are developing works in response to prompts from the revolutionary activist humanitarian writings and precepts of George Bernard Shaw.

Gingold Theatrical Group, now in its 15th Season, is continuing its new play development with the SPEAKERS' CORNER Writers Group. For the 2020-'21 season, writers Kate Douglas, Aeneas Sagar Hemphill, Divya Mangwani, Seth McNeill, Sophie Sagan-Gutherz, and Marcus Scott will develop works in response to Shaw's Arms and the Man.

In its current iteration at Don Bluth Front Row Theatre in Scottsdale, Ira Levin's masterpiece thriller, DEATHTRAP, craftily directed by Lee Cooley and featuring killer performances by Jim Coates and James Gerardi, ticks and tocks like clockwork, with characteristic twists of plot, heightened by a superb cast, making for a riveting and thoroughly enjoyable production. Runs through June 29th.

'4000 Miles,' Amy Herzog's gently comic drama that won the Obie Award for Best New American Play and was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize, will be the second play of the Hampton Theatre Company's 2016-2017 season, opening on January 12, 2017 at the Quogue Community Hall and running through January 29.

This week's THEATER TALK focuses on both the new PBS documentary Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy and the 100th Anniversary of the Actors' Equity Association. Guests are filmmaker Michael Kantor, producer of the PBS film, followed by Nicholas Wyman, President of Actors' Equity, and Robert Simonson, author of Performance of the Century: 100 Years of Actors' Equity Association and the Rise of Professional American Theater, which chronicles the powerful union's history.
