Folger Theatre & Capitol Riverfront BID to Celebrate Shakespeare Birthday with Film Screenings

Folger Theatre and the Capitol Riverfront BID celebrate Shakespeare's birthday this April with three free screenings of some of the most beloved film adaptations of the Bard. From April 24 through April 26, free screenings of Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, and Franco Zeffirelli's The Taming of the Shrew will begin at sundown, between 7:30 and 8pm each night. Actors from Folger Theatre's production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (on stage May 12 through June 21) will be present to introduce the screenings and area vendors will be on hand to provide refreshments. Bard in the Yards represents an exciting collaboration between Folger Theatre and the Capitol Riverfront BID in a burgeoning area just south of Capitol Hill.

With the news of Harper Lee's novel Go Set a Watchman being published 55 years after To Kill a Mockingbird, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's acclaimed stage production of To Kill a Mockingbird continues its phenomenally popular UK tour, with extra performances added due to its sell-out success. The tour continues until May 2015 visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Nottingham, Dartford, Milton Keynes, Southampton, Leeds, Plymouth, Newcastle, Dublin, Cheltenham, Richmond and Salford.

Two weeks from tonight is opening night for the Judson Theatre Company production of To Kill a Mockingbird, the final show of JTC's 2014 season. The production will open Thursday, October 2 and run through Sunday, October 5 at Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College, located at 3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst.

Johnson is in office, Jackie Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis have just become an "item," protests against the Vietnam war are going strong - and Judge Francis Biddle, former Attorney General under FDR and Chief Judge at the Nuremburg Trials, is 81 years old. Trying, the award-winning play inspired by the real-life experiences of playwright Joanna McClelland Glass as personal secretary to Biddle during the last year of his life, opens at International City Theatre on Aug. 22, directed by John Henry Davis and starring Tony Abatemarco and Paige Lindsey White.
TNT Sets FALLING SKIES Memorial Day Marathon

As excitement builds for the fourth season of TNT's hit drama Falling Skies, the network is giving viewers the chance to binge-watch the entire third season on Memorial Day. TNT will present all ten episodes of season three in a 10-hour marathon slated to begin Monday, May 26, at 10 a.m. (ET/PT). Falling Skies, which stars Noah Wyle, is produced by Amblin Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg. Also starring are Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Colin Cunningham, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Sarah Carter, Seychelle Gabriel, Mpho Koaho and Doug Jones. Scarlett Byrne (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) is set to join the cast as a regular this season, while Oscar(R) winner Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite, Mimic) and Treva Etienne (Terminator Salvation, Pirates of the Caribbean) are slated to guest-star, along with returning guest-star Robert Sean Leonard (House, Dead Poets Society).
