ICT Presents THE CRUCIBLE 3/20-4/25

Infamous Commonwealth Theatre opens the first full production of their 2010 season dedicated to the topic Redemption with a revival of Arthur Miller's THE CRUCIBLE, directed by ICT's new Artistic Director, Chris Maher.

World Premiere Musical WONDERLAND Moves to Alley Theatre; Opens 1/20

Alley Theatre presents the world premiere of the new musical Wonderland about Alice, a children's book writer in Manhattan who is suffering through a creative block, estranged from her husband and alienated from her daughter. It takes a trip to a strange-yet-familiar Wonderland for her to regain her life's balance and again find the love and everyday magic that reside in us all - if we know how to look. With a book by Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy (The Civil War), lyrics by Jack Murphy, music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlett Pimpernel, The Civil War), and directed by Gregory Boyd, Wonderland begins previews Friday, January 15, opens officially Wednesday, January 20 and runs through Sunday, February 14.

On Sunday, January 10 at the China Club Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Robert Schenkkan, and composer/lyricist Neil Berg presented an industry showcase of their new musical THE 12. Produced by Adam Friedson and Left Feild Productions, this musical showcase is a preview to its premiere production at the Broward Center this upcoming spring. The showcase, part of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference, was directed by Richard Seyd.

Now comes THE 12, written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Robert Schenkkan, with music, lyrics and story concept by award winning composer, Neil Berg. On January 10, Adam Friedson and Left Feild Productions will present a a showcase of this new musical as a preview to it's premiere production at the Broward Center this upcoming spring. Tickets are on sale now for The 12, the world premiere of a new musical from 100 Years of Broadway creator Neil Berg with a story by Pulitzer Prize playwright and author Robert Schenkkan. The musical that begins where Jesus Christ Superstar left off will debut on Thursday, April 1 at 8 p.m. in the in the Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

In what the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Artistic Director Bill Rauch and Executive Director Paul Nicholson can only describe as amazing, OSF's 2009 season results have exceeded all expectations. Initially anticipating a slump in the 2009 season attendance and revenue, the Festival closed with record attendance of 410,034 (89% of capacity), and record revenues of $17,098,115.

Kennedy Center Presents McNally 'Nights at the Opera' Event for 2010

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present Terrence McNally's Nights at the Opera - an event showcasing three of the playwright's works including Master Class, The Lisbon Traviata, and Golden Age concurrently in Kennedy Center theaters from March 20 - April 18, 2010. Directors include Walter Bobbie for Master Class and Christopher Ashley for The Lisbon Traviata.
