Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performances inspire audiences around the world, and New Yorkers have a unique opportunity to join in the dance. The Ailey Extension and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater announce the return of “Ticket to Dance” in conjunction with Ailey's Lincoln Center season June 10—21. “Ticket to Dance” welcomes audience members to try their first Ailey Extension class FREE with the presentation of a performance ticket stub (returning students receive a free class with the purchase of a 10-class card). Currently celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Ailey Extension offers over 80 classes for students of all levels in 25 different techniques, including Horton – the dance technique featured in classics like Ailey's must-see Revelations, which will be performed during the Company's Lincoln Center season.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world's most popular dance companies, will return to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts for a two-week season at the David H. Koch Theater, June 10 – 21, 2015. The 15-performance engagement kicks off with The Ailey Spirit Gala benefit on Wednesday, June 10th at 7PM. Rising stars of Ailey II, The Ailey School and AileyCamp will join Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for a special one-night-only performance, including the American masterpiece Revelations. On Thursday, June 11th at 6PM*, a free dance class for the public on Lincoln Center's Josie Robertson Plaza, sponsored by General Motors, will precede that evening's world premiere of Exodus, by bold hip-hop choreographer Rennie Harris. Other season highlights include the company premiere of Robert Battle's No Longer Silent, which brings to life the music of Erwin Schulhoff, a composer silenced by the Nazis, and new productions of Talley Beatty's vibrant Toccata and Artistic Director Emerita Judith Jamison's sensual A Case of You duet from Reminiscin'.

?The Celebrity Series of Boston announced its 2015-2016 season today, marking 77 years of bringing the world's greatest performing artists to Boston. The season opens on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 with author and speaker David Sedaris. In total, the 2015-2016 season will include 48 music, dance and entertainment engagements. New York – April 15, 2015 – Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation has been selected for the New York-based Wallace Foundation's Building Audiences for Sustainability effort – a new, six-year, $52-million initiative aimed at developing practical insights into how exemplary performing arts organizations can successfully expand their audiences, the foundation announced today. The $710,000 grant is earmarked for preliminary audience research and the first cycle of work will explore how to eliminate barriers of engagement for millennials and implement new strategies to involve and retain their participation for years to come.

?Dallas Theater Center announced today complete details for the rolling world premiere of Colossal, a new play by Andrew Hinderaker. DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty directs the Kennedy Center Jean Kennedy Smith Playwriting Award-winning play, which is choreographed by founder and artistic director of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance Joshua L. Peugh. Colossal begins with previews tonight, April 2 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, May 3.
