59E59 Theaters will welcome playwright Lauren Gunderson (Bauer) back to the 5A Season with NY premiere of her award-winning play I AND YOU, directed by Sean Daniels, and produced by Merrimack Repertory Theatre in association with Richard Winkler.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre is following up on the overwhelming success of the season opener, 'The Lion,' with a regional premiere directed by the company's new artistic director Sean Daniels. 'I and You' by Lauren Gunderson tells the story of two very different teenagers, Caroline and Anthony, who struggle to connect as they work on a school project about Walt Whitman's poetry. Over the course of the play and through a stunning surprise ending, they find that there is more that unites them than divides them. This production marks the New England premiere of the play that won the 2014 Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award, which recognizes new work produced outside of New York.

Echoes of Octavia is directed by Brent Buell and features Onyi Okoli, Tyson Hall, Nina Yvette Coleman, Erick Carter, Torre Reigns, Jada Castillo, Alisha Espinosa. The play takes place in Octavia's Diner, a cozy, family-owned soul food restaurant in the middle of a black neighborhood in the Midwest. Zora, the business mind of the diner, receives the offer of a lifetime - a chance to write a book about the legendary sci-fi author Octavia Butler. She'd have to move half way across the country to work on it, but her father wants her to stay and run the diner. She's torn between family duty and her dream.

Dixie's Tupperware Party, the hilarious show starring Dixie Longate which turned Off-Broadway into a Tupperware-mania celebration and garnered the prestigious 2008 Drama Desk Award Nomination, rolls into Omaha for a strictly limited engagement of four performances beginning tonight, May 28, 2015. Written by Kris Andersson, the production is playing at the Scott Recital Hall in the Holland Performing Arts Center as part of its sixth smash season on national tour. Omaha Performing Arts presents the theatrical comedy May 28-30. The production features the talents of nearly fifty CMSD students from across the District and will take place on the stage of the Ohio Theatre at Playhouse Square, this weekend, May 22 - 24, 2015. Tony Sias, Director of Arts Education / Cleveland School of the Arts Artistic Director for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, co-directs the production with the CMSD All-City Arts Program's Managing Director, Kimberly Brown.
