A once-in-a-lifetime Broadway event took place yesterday, December 21, following the matinee performance of The Last Ship when patrons were invited to meet Sting and members of the cast on stage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52 St.) as they signed copies of the recently released Original Broadway Cast Recording. 16-time Grammy Award winning musician Sting, who now stars in The Last Ship (for which he also composed the score), was joined by cast mates Michael Esper, Rachel Tucker,Jimmy Nail,Fred Applegate, Aaron Lazar, Sally Ann Triplett and Collin Kelly-Sordelet. The highly anticipated film INTO THE WOODS had its premiere last night, December 8th at New York's City's Ziegfeld Theatre. The film, which hits theaters on December 25th, is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. Directed by Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis, the limited engagement will play through Sunday, February 15, 2014. The completely reimagined revival of Side Show opened Monday night, November 17, at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge was there to chat with the cast on the special night and you can catch interviews with the full gang below!

Rehearsals are currently underway for the American premiere of Constellations, the acclaimed new play by Nick Payne, directed by Michael Longhurst, starring Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal(Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain) and two-time Olivier Award winner Ruth Wilson (BBC's and PBS' Emmy nominated 'Luther,' Showtime's 'The Affair'). THE RIVER opened last night, Nov. 16, at Circle in the Square (50th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). A new play by Jez Butterworth, The River stars Hugh Jackman, Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo and is directed by Ian Rickson. The production will play a strictly limited 13-week engagement through Sunday, January 25, 2015.
