MARY POPPINS continues to fly high, celebrating five magical years on Broadway on Wednesday, November 16 (previews began October 14, 2006 at the New Amsterdam Theatre). MARY POPPINS is the third Disney Theatrical Productions show (following Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King) and the fifth Cameron Mackintosh show (joining Cats, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon) to play five or more years on Broadway.

Private Lives began performances yesterday at The Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) and opens on Thursday November 17. Kim Cattrall stars alongside Paul Gross in Noël Coward's Private Lives, directed by Richard Eyre. The Broadway engagement follows sold-out runs in London and Toronto. Cameron Mathison ('All My Children,' 'Good Morning America') made his Broadway debut on Wednesday, November 2 in a cameo role in MARY POPPINS at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Mathison's performance will be shown as a part of a special 'Good Morning America' segment celebrating the 5th anniversary of MARY POPPINS on Broadway, airing Monday, November 7th at 7AM on ABC (schedule subject to change), in which he becomes the first non-cast member in the show's 7 year history to attempt Bert's 'proscenium walk.' Following the performance, Mathison, Steffanie Leigh (Mary Poppins), and Case Dillard (Bert at that evening's performance) were greeted backstage by Mathison's former 'All My Children' co-star, Susan Lucci. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has just announced the full company of You, Nero by American Voices New Play Institute resident playwright and Pulitzer Prize finalist Amy Freed. This is the second project of a resident playwright to be produced at Arena Stage as part of the three-year residencies through the Institute. Making his Arena Stage debut is director Nicholas Martin (Broadway's Present Laughter, Butley). You, Nero runs November 25, 2011-January 1, 2012 in the Fichandler Stage.
