As the West End multi Olivier award-winning hit musical continues to excite audiences in the West End, Sonia Friedman Productions and Ambassador Theatre Group are delighted to announce the full cast for the national tour of SUNNY AFTERNOON.

After almost 900 performances in London, and having been seen by over half a million people, audiences have just one month left to catch the multi-Olivier award-winning hit British musical, SUNNY AFTERNOON. The production will conclude its West End run on 29 October this year, after more than two years at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Winner of the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, Sunny Afternoon is an irresistible musical with slick theatricality and ingenious storytelling at its heart. It tells the captivating tale of how one of Britain's greatest bands, The Kinks, rose to stardom.

???????The King's is warming up for a spell of brighter weather next week as the hit musical based on the true story of The Kinks arrives for a five night run at the venue.  Produced by Sonia Friedman Productions and Ambassador Theatre Group, the show, which received four awards at the 2015 Olivier Awards including Best New Musical and Outstanding Achievement in Music for Ray Davies, opened at the Manchester Opera House on Friday 19 August 2016 before rocking out on a national tour.

When you listen to The Shacks' self-titled, debut EP, you might imagine that Shannon Wise and Max Shrager are much older than their respective 18 and 20 years. But when Shannon's whisper-vocals breeze through the speakers, you hear the youthfulness of their sound which then in turn explains the fearlessness of their songwriting. The Olivier Award winning musical Sunny Afternoon swung into Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre with a burst of sixties excess, rockstar brawls and real rock 'n' roll.  Based on the true story of The Kinks, their early days as a struggling rock band, their huge success and the tumultuous story of their front man, Ray Davies, Sunny Afternoon is a jukebox musical with real grit and heart. The story zips along at a healthy pace, with snapshots and vignettes of the band's life deftly strung together with songs from their back catalogue. The musical opens with one of The Kinks' very first gigs - a hilarious debacle where the London boys rock up at a very conservative Home Counties dance - and progresses to show their first number one 'You Really Got Me', on-stage fights, a tour of America which results in their eventual ban from the country, contractual difficulties, and a their enduring triumphs with songs such as 'Sunny Afternoon' and 'Waterloo Sunset.'

It may be a dull morning here in Glasgow but we're holding out for a spell of brighter weather as the West End multi Olivier award-winning hit musical Sunny Afternoon confirms its cast. Produced by Sonia Friedman Productions and Ambassador Theatre Group, the show, which received four awards at the 2015 Olivier Awards including Best New Musical and Outstanding Achievement in Music for Ray Davies, will open at the Manchester Opera House on Friday 19 August 2016 before rocking the King's Theatre Glasgow from Tuesday 11 until Saturday 15 October 2016.

The multi-Olivier award-winning hit British musical SUNNY AFTERNOON will conclude its London run at the end of its current booking period on 29 October this year, after more than two years in the West End.

Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, releases a newly expanded edition of Everybody's In Show-Biz, The Kinks' 1972 album masterpiece, today Friday, June 3.

Award-winning writer Tanika Gupta returns to Theatre Royal Stratford East to debut her hilarious and uplifting new comedy LOVE N STUFF on the Main Stage - three years after its first successful run in the Studio. Love N Stuff audience favourite Rina Fatania returns to play the role of Bindi and will be joined by new lead Nicholas Khan in the role of Mansoor. This funny, fast-paced and engaging show sees two actors playing a breathtaking 20 characters and is set to have audiences laughing out loud. Directed and designed by Kerry Michael (Artistic Director, Theatre Royal Stratford East) the show will run from Friday 3 June until Saturday 25 June.

Due to public demand, the multi-Olivier award-winning hit British musical SUNNY AFTERNOON has announced another extension to its West End run, until 29 October 2016. The extension will take the show's West End run past the two year mark.

WORLD CUP '66 LIVE is a spectacular live event taking place at The SSE Arena, Wembley on July 30th to celebrate the 50th anniversary of England winning the FIFA World Cup.  An audience of 10,000 at The SSE Arena, Wembley and many more at cinemas across the UK will be simultaneously treated to a minute-by-minute retelling of the historic game with a unique mix of film footage, live bands, personal appearances of special guests and a chance to take a trip back to the nostalgic and wonderful world that was Swinging London in 1966.

Playwright, songwriter and director Randy Sharp (Last Man Club, Edgar Oliver'sEast 10th Street and In the Park)and songwriter, guitarist and longtime Blondie member Paul Carbonara (Blondie) have teamed up again to create Evening - 1910, a new musical about an immigrant to 1910 New York and a Bowery theater facing eviction as the dawn of cinema becomes day. Axis Company, of which Sharp is the founding Artistic Director, will present the world premiere of the work April 28 - May 28.
