He recently contributed a movement to Tyler's Suite, a choral song-cycle dedicated to Tyler Clementi, the 18-year-old Rutgers University student that took his life three years ago. The piece, which also includes contributions from Stephen Schwartz, Ann Hampton Callaway and Craig Carnelia, was premiered by the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus in March. On the heels of his premier with the SF Gay Men's Chorus and appearance at Sydney's Mardis Gras, Lance Horne made his Broadway at Birdland debut with guests including long-time collaborators Alan Cumming, Alice Ripley, Rachel Dratch, Stephen Wallem, Michael Rose, Lea DeLaria, Pamela Bob, and Sarah Shenkkan. The band included Matt Aronoff on bass, John Bollinger on drums and Yair Evnine on cello. Hello Broadway World readers! We did it! We opened our show!! And it was amazing! Such a fun night full of old friends and new ones and such an enthusiastic, supportive crowd.
