The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles® (BAFTA Los Angeles), which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, has announced they will honor Daniel Craig, Quentin Tarantino, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Will Wright at the 2012 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Winner of the 2011 Ivey award for "Best Overall Production", The 7-Shot Symphony (a.k.a The Kick Ass Cowboy Show) combines live music and Cirque Du Soleil-like movements with epic mythological characters. Eurydice, Thor, Anansi, Hades, Orpheus and many more will meet onstage, as only Olympians can. One night only; Friday, September 28, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at The O'Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University.

In a unique special event created for Toronto International Film Festival audiences, Reitman directed a live stage reading of Alan Ball's screenplay for American Beauty. Sam Mendes' film about a family man's resplendent mid-life crisis premiered in Toronto in 1999 and went on to win five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Screenplay. The one-night-only performance included Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks, Woody Harrelson, Adam Driver, Sarah Gadon, Nick Kroll, Mae Whitman and George Stroumboulopoulos.

Mothers beware!!! Lifetime has ordered 10 episodes of PRANK MY MOM, a new, hidden-camera, comedy show that allows kids to show their mothers just how much they love them. Hosted by Vivica A. Fox (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dancing with the Stars), the program will premiere on Lifetime on Tuesday, October 9th, at 10 pm ET/PT.
Tommy Lee Jones Among Donostia Award Honorees at San Sebastian Festival

The 60th edition of the San Sebastian Festival will this year bestow its Donostia Awards on actors John Travolta, Ewan McGregor and Tommy Lee Jones and the Special 60th Anniversary Donostia Award going to director Oliver Stone. In 1969, Jones made his Broadway debut in John Osborne's A Patriot for Me. His other Broadway appearances include Four on a Garden and Ulysses in Nighttown.

PULP SHAKESPEARE, a "Best of Fest" winner at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Fest, has been selected to be presented in the 2012 FringeNYC Encores Series. Out of the 187 productions in this year's FringeNYC Festival, PULP SHAKESPEARE is one of just fifteen chosen for an encore performance. Performances begin September 19 at the Soho Playhouse.

I wrapped up the day at "Story Time with Mr. Buttermen: Fables for Adults Living in the Modern World." Although this was a musical comedy that wound up being much lighter fare than "Rated M for Mature", they essentially had a lot in common. It made for a the perfect twin bill. Essentially, "Story Time" answers what happens to teens like Eric, if the final third of his show didn't happen and he grew up.
Both are homage to the disaffected.
