Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival continues its 51st season with its third week of performances, including presentations of The Dark Mirror: Zender's Winterreise directed by Netia Jones and starring tenor Ian Bostridge. Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival , one of New York's premier summer performance series, kicks off its 51st season on July 25. Among the highlights in the first two weeks are a special opening concert led by Louis Langrée, Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director, featuring traditional and indigenous songs from Mozart's time; a choral presentation by Les Arts Florissants; and guest conductors Edward Gardner and Gianandrea Noseda; festival debuts by more than 10 artists, including Kit Armstrong, Janai Brugger, Jennifer Johnson Cano, S? Percussion, Beatrice Rana, Ksenija Sidorova, and the Young People's Chorus of New York City; and the New York premiere of David Lang's concerto for percussion, man made. ???????The picturesque Crested Butte Music Festival (CBMF) in the mountains of Colorado offers an unspoiled summer destination for bluegrass, opera, classical music, children's programs, and more. CBMF's 21st Season, entitled "Identity Unmasked," will explore identity and its revelation or masking. The fourth week of programming features the annual Opera Studio production, this year, Offenbach's The Island of Tulipatan and Puccini's Gianni Schicchi. With over 500 singers applying for just 12 spots, the Festival has become a coveted destination for young vocalists. The powerful Voxare String Quartet, featuring new CBMF co-Artistic Directors Emily Ondracek-Peterson and Erik Christian Peterson, perform an evening of live string music to the 1929 Soviet-era silent masterpiece, The Man with a Movie Camera, and bring music from their Mixtape to the mountains. Time for Three, the genre-busting string trio, offers a free concert open to the public in the turn-of-the-century Spiegeltent, one of just a few of such venues in the United States. The Festival is introducing a late night music series, After Dark, to the programming for the first time, taking the opportunity to introduce new and exciting artists to their audiences.

Lydia Johnson Dance will premiere two new works: one to music by Philip Glass and Marc Mellits, and the second to Trio Sonatas of Handel, joined by company works to one of the choreographer's favorites composers, Osvaldo Golijov.   Joining the 13-member ensemble are guests Mary Beth Hansohn and Peter Chursin, recently seen on the Twyla Tharp Dance 50th Anniversary Tour.  Company Ballet Mistress is Deborah Wingert, former New York City Ballet dancer and one of a select few chosen by The Balanchine Trust to set his works on other companies.   Performances Today, Thursday & Friday, June 21, 22 & 23 at 7:30 PM at New York Live Arts, 219 West 19th Street.
