After two years of dedicated research and development, Digital Theatre in partnership with Routledge have announced the launch in the coming academic year of The Routledge Performance Archive - an international performing arts archive of video and text for educational institutions around the world. The Routledge/Digtital Theatre Partnership will provide access to an archive of primary materials by some of the world's greatest practitioners, for the teaching and study of performance.

FREUD'S LAST SESSION by Mark St. Germain, now in its second successful year in New York, and currently running at the Mercury Theater (3745 N. Southport, Chicago) will host a birthday celebration in honor of the anniversary of Sigmund Freud's 156th birthday on Sunday, May 6. Following both performances that day, audiences will have the opportunity to meet and greet with the cast members and snack on cupcakes. One lucky audience member will be selected to receive a "Freudian Slip" by Cosabella, courtesy of Chicago's G Boutique.

After raising L.A.'s cultural pulse with new productions attracting critical acclaim, The Eli & Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center had unveiled its vision for the future and announced its 5th Anniversary Season beginning on September 1, 2012 with the Brazilian jazz singer Luciana Souza. Highlights of the expanded season include world premieres from today's most relevant companies and artists in dance, theater, and music from around the world; artistic partnerships with London's Menier Chocolate Factory, the Los Angeles Opera, and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre; the 4th Annual Westside Jazz Experience featuring stars such as Pat Metheny, Rickie Lee Jones, and the Fabulous Thunderbirds; a return of family programs including a hit from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; and artists direct from Brazil, Cuba, Europe, and across the U.S.

Michael Attenborough, Artistic Director of the Almeida Theatre will be presented with the Award for Excellence In International Theatre at a luncheon held today, 17 April 2012, at the Travellers Club, London. Neville Shulman, Director of the British Centre of the International Theatre Institute, will present Attenborough with the Award.

Artes de la Rosa will host the World Premiere Screening of It is Rocket Science in Presidio at the 2nd Annual Rose Marine Latino Film Festival. The film will screen on Saturday, February 25th at 7:00 p.m. Directed by Academy and Emmy Award winner Nigel Noble, the film is a short documentary of a Texasborder town physics teacher and her students' unprecedented success in national science and rocketry competitions. Students featured in the film, from the Presidio Rocketry Team, were recently invited to the White House where they participated in the 2nd White House Science Fair this past Tuesday. There, they met President Obama and invited him to the Premiere of the film documenting their journey at Rose Marine Latino Film Festival. A copy of the film was then presented to the Commander-in-Chief. Director Nigel Noble and students from the team will be in attendance at the screening of the film Saturday the 25th.

Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), together with the British Council and the National Commission for Culture and Arts, presents the first-ever Filipino adaptation of William Shakespeare's more renowned tragedy HARING LEAR(KING LEAR) at PETA Theatre Center until Sunday, March 4. National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera does the text adaptation and veteran theater director Nonon Padilla directs this production.
