New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera's 2016 Season Features La Gioconda and Rigoletto

Love, seduction, jealousy, vengeance, and death all come together in the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera's 2016 season presentations of grand, traditional opera at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC).  During 2016, Verismo Opera, the house opera company of bergenPAC, will present Amilcare Ponchielli's La Gioconda and Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto.

Today, Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) named Marcus Samuelsson, internationally acclaimed chef, restaurateur and author, as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors with Mark Weiss, Chief Investment Officer of RFR Holdings. C-CAP Founder Richard Grausman, who previously held the Chairman position, will continue as Chairman Emeritus. The Board's transition will set the course for the future of C-CAP, which in 2015 marked 25 years of preparing underserved high school students across the country for college and careers in the food service and hospitality industry.

Introducing children and the extended family to live, fully staged performances of grand opera, as the composer intended,  is the mission of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera's Bring the Family to the Opera program.  On September 10, 2015, the program resumes its special ticket rates for children, senior citizens, and individuals to see and enjoy the new production Lucia di Lammermoor on Sunday, October 18 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC), located at 30 North Van Brunt Street, in Englewood, New Jersey.

Shakespeare Theatre Company to Host Annual Mock Trial at Sidney Harman Hall, 5/19

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents its Annual Dinner and Mock Trial at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) on Monday, May 19, 2014. This marks the 20th year that Shakespeare Theatre Company has produced the Mock Trial. The evening begins with dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Trial at 7:30 p.m. The dinner will be held in the Forum while the Trial will be in Sidney Harman Hall. This year's trial includes a special session of the Supreme Court of Austria, convening at Sidney Harman Hall to hear the case of Isabella v. The Duke of Vienna. Some of the allegations include illegal secret surveillance, false imprisonment, negligent appointment of an unfit deputy, and disrespect of commitment to religious vows.

Wasatch Theatrical Ventures will present one of the great American plays of the 20th century, INHERIT THE WIND, written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, directed by the award-winning Kiff Scholl, produced by Racquel Lehrman/Theatre Planners. In a small town courtroom and with the eyes of the nation upon them, two legal giants face off over a teacher's right to teach evolution to a high school class in this critically acclaimed drama based on the Scopes Monkey Trial. As rousing and relevant today as it was when it debuted in 1955, INHERIT THE WIND is an edge-of-your-seat riveting look at the age-old conflict between science and religion. The play opens Friday, February 8th and runs through March 16th at the Grove Theatre Center in Burbank, CA.

Fifth & Pacific to Sell Lucky Brand for $225M

Fifth & Pacific Companies, Inc. announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell Lucky Brand Jeans to an affiliate of Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. (LGP) for total consideration of $225 million, with $140 million of the sale price to be paid in cash at closing and the remaining $85 million to be financed in the form of a three year seller note. The seller note can be repaid by LGP at any time prior to the end of its three year term, bears cash interest of $8 million per year, and provides for additional interest of $417 thousand per month, resulting in a $100 million maximum payment obligation at maturity. Further, the note will be secured by a first priority lien on the Lucky Brand trademark and also by a second priority lien on the other assets of Lucky Brand that are expected to be pledged to third party lenders. Under LGP's ownership, Lucky Brand Jeans will also assume the proportionate share of FNP's sourcing contract with Li & Fung in addition to other FNP obligations. This $225 million purchase price reflects a multiple of over 7 times the brand's latest twelve months pro forma adjusted standalone EBITDA (inclusive of corporate costs estimated to run the business on a standalone basis). Consummation of this transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to occur in the first quarter of 2014.
