Off-Broadway's eleven-time Obie Award-winning Soho Rep (46 Walker Street) will present a diverse array of contemporary theater artists, beginning with Young Jean Lee's LEAR (January 7 - January 31, 2010); followed by Gregory Moss' ORANGE, HAT & GRACE (March 11 - April 4, 2010) directed by Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson; and concluding with Cynthia Hopkins' THE TRUTH: A TRAGEDY (May 6 - May 30); and will implement a new humanities programming initiative - FEED - for all main stage productions during the company's 2009-10 season, it has been announced by Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson.

Frances McDormand, Maura Tierney, and more will be joining the cast of Los Angeles based Redcat's production of NORTH ATLANTIC. Written by James Strah, the production will run February 10th through 21st and is directed by Elizabeth LeCompte. The cast will include McDormand, Ari Fliakos, Scott Shepherd, Kate Valk, Steve Cuiffo, Koosil-ja Hwang, Paul Lazar, Zachary Oberzan, Jenny Seastone-Stern and Tierney.

Performing arts projects from Chile, Brazil, and Japan are among dozens of new events added to the 2010 schedule at REDCAT (the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater), which also announced today that the cast for the touring production North Atlantic, by New York's famed The Wooster Group, will feature Academy Award-winner Frances McDormand and Emmy-nominated ER Alum Maura Tierney.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, will present the return of its popular First Look Festival - a program of one-night only staged readings of rarely seen classics, performed by notable actors.

Classic Stage Company will present Obie Award winner Michael Cumpsty in the title role in Shakespeare's Richard III beginning performances Thursday, November 1 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). The production kicks of CSC's 40th anniversary season. Co-directed by Kulick and Cumpsty, Richard III will play a limited engagement from Thursday, November 1 through Sunday, December 9. The official opening night is Tuesday, November 13 at 7PM.

New plays and theatre pieces will be featured in the Prelude '05 Festival, which runs from September 28th through October 1st

Soho Think Tank's Ice Factory festival will showcase six premieres of new plays in six weeks, from July 6th to August 13th
