Photo Flash: Hard Rock Renames Paradise Road in Honor of GUNS N’ ROSES’ Residency

On Monday, Oct. 29, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, AEG Live and Clark County welcomed Guns N' Roses to Las Vegas by temporarily declaring Paradise Road as Paradise City Road in honor of the band's first-ever residency Appetite for Democracy. The street pays tribute to Guns N' Roses record-breaking single "Paradise City" and will keep its new name through the band's run at The Joint, Wednesday, Oct. 31 - Saturday, Nov. 24. 2012 Artios Casting Award Winners Announced - ONCE, VENUS IN FUR & More

Given each year, in addition to the awards presented to casting directors for their achievements in Theatre, Television, and Film casting, the CSA also gave out the following special awards to Casting Director Lora Kennedy for the Hoyt Bowers Award given for excellence in casting; Harvey Fierstein received The New York Apple Award given to individual for contributions to the New York casting community and Ben Affleck, who received the Career Achievement Award.

Paradise Road to Temporarily be Renamed 'Paradise City Road' in Honor of Guns N' Roses

On Monday, Oct. 29, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas and Clark County will declare Paradise Road to be known as Paradise City Road in honor of rock legends Guns N' Roses' first-ever residency, Appetite for Democracy, at The Joint. The street will pay homage to Guns N' Roses' record-breaking hit "Paradise City," through the band's extended run Wednesday, Oct. 31 - Saturday, Nov. 24.

SVA Honors Illustrator James McMullan with Masters Series Award and Exhibition, 11/26-12/15

School of Visual Arts (SVA) will honor James McMullan-one of America's foremost illustrators-with the Masters Series Award and retrospective exhibition. Best known for his Lincoln Center theater posters and his psychologically intense style of realism, he has also designed and illustrated many magazine articles, book and album covers, and advertisements. "The Masters Series: James McMullan" is on view from November 26 through December 15 at SVA Gallery, 209 East 23 Street, New York City.

CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but the cast of Broadway's NEWSIES was already hard a work yesterday recording their track for the album. The Casting Society of America CSA) announced today the nominations for the organization's 28th Annual Artios Awards for outstanding achievement in casting given in 22 categories including film, television and theater. The CSA will fete their own on Monday, October 29, 2012 with award ceremonies to be held simultaneously at the The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles (reception will commence at 6:00 p.m. PDT) and at XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge (512 West 42nd Street) in New York (reception will commence at 6:00 p.m. EDT). Honorees for this year's Career Achievement Award, Hoyt Bowers Award and The New York Apple will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Guns N' Roses takes over Sin City with their first-ever residency Appetite for Democracy at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this fall. The band will play 12 hows starting Wednesday, October 31 through Saturday, November 24.
